Meet AISLING ⚜️She is a super sweet and adorable calico kitten who is ready for her new chapter in life. It didn’t start off so great, coming in from SEAACA, a high-kill shelter in LA, but after being saved and fostered by our friend .the.cat.lady and supported by she is ready for a life of spoiled perfection. She absolutely loves other cats and is just the cutest little baby with a face that makes you want to give her 1000 kisses.

She is also eligible for our BOGO sale this month- come check out Aisling and the rest of her adorable siblings at our lounge. This baby will be scooped up quick I’m sure! If interested in adopting simply click the link in our bio to fill out an application or message us for the link.

AVIANA what are you doing here? 🐾🩵 looks like she’s getting buff and doing some workouts climbing on the cat wall. Aviana is an adorable half Scottish fold kitty and she gets along fantastic with other cats. Unfortunately she’s not a huge fan of humans and can often be found hissing if you get too close. (Honestly girl, that’s fair - I would too lol)

She would be the perfect pet if you just want a ridiculously cute but super low key companion for your current cat. Come meet her at our lounge or try a foster to adopt with pretty girl Aviana and see if she would be the right fit for your home.

BIG MEWS 🐾🩵 LIMITED TIME ADOPTION SALE!
Starting August 6th until the end of the month if you adopt one cat, you get to bring home a buddy for half off!

Our adoption fees for kittens are $200 and for adults over 1 year old $150. We totally understand that may be a big amount to drop, especially for a pair, so we hope this can encourage potential adoptions to consider bringing home a bonded pair, or two kittens (which is especially important for their development).

While you can certainly go to municipal shelters to adopt and we support that as well, there are some major benefits of adopting through us as a rescue. The adoption fee already includes their spay/neuter surgery, all necessary vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea meds, and any other medical treatment already provided. We also are able to do matchmaking since our staff are extremely knowledgeable on each cat’s personality and background. You can really get to properly interact with them at the lounge and feel sure that the kitty you bring home is the best fit for your family. You can also do a foster -> adopt trial run for two weeks. Lastly, we are here for all of our prior adopters and are happy to provide guidance, advice and support for the life of your cats. We truly care about every single kitty that becomes a STMM alumni.

As a rescue we do not have any outside government funding so we rely entire on donations and adoption fees to support our lifesaving goals. Your contribution goes directly towards this cause and helps us stay afloat and work towards getting cats out of high-kill shelters and in to happy homes.

STMM HAS A TWO HEADED KITTEN?????? 📝
Okay not really but this was too funny not to share. We just have a kitten pillow cuddle puddle happening and it’s so cute. These guys are waiting on their second vaccine and have been loving it up in the villa with mom and dad. They will be available for adoption soon and are so stinkin’ cute.

If you want some kitten therapy now it a good time to visit the lounge, we also got EIGHT new arrivals yesterday, a whole litter and also two seniors who are 12 and 15. At Save the Meow Meows we love all kitties, even two headed ones! (Wouldn’t that be interesting…)

What do you think? 💭 We have lots of big ideas and plans for this little rescue and a seemingly endless to-do list. But this year having celebrated the 1st anniversary of the lounge, we are looking ahead to lots of exciting new ventures. I am currently working on redoing the website, we just got new business cards, and I am also working on getting custom stickers and merch for an online shop. We will also do some lounge improvements and introduce new events (check out our upcoming DnD event!) so stay tuned.

Honestly there are so many horrific aspects to rescue, such as the sick foster kitten in my bathroom as we speak, but I think balancing that with more uplifting and fun aspects is so important for the longevity of any rescue. As always, thank you to anyone who supports us in any way possible. 🐾 Pretty soon you’ll be able to rep the name and spread even more awareness!

Longtime resident Gonzo is modeling our new cat-approved shelving TV unit. I thought this was a cool piece since it’s specifically made for cats to be able to climb through the shelves. We are always looking to make the lounge as much of a cat paradise as much as possible since nearly all of our rescue cats have been through so much in life, they deserve a space that they feel comfortable living until they find a forever home. We also have CAT TV playing at all times and it’s adorable because some of the kitties even have their favorite channels and genuinely watch it. MEET DAVID CATTERFIELD ✨ A super cute tuxedo kitten who was lovingly rescued and raised by .the.cat.lady after being rescued from SEAACA. David is friendly, playful and loves hanging out with the other cats at the lounge. Come on by and meet him and all the other cuties we have that are looking for homes.

ADOPT ALEXINA ✨ This pretty girl was rescued from the high-kill Swborw shelter almost a year ago and stayed with our friend . She was originally a mom cat whose babies all got adopted but sadly mom has been overlooked. We decided to take her into our care at the lounge to see if she would peak somebody’s interest but this pretty girl still hasn’t had luck finding a home.

Alexina is a very friendly cat and loves human affection and being pet but she can be a little more reserved around other animals. She would do well in a home that has maybe one or two other buddies that she can feel comfortable with, or even as a solo kitty who can get all the love and attention herself.

INTERESTED IN DND WITH CATS? 🐱 August 6th from 3-5:30pm, we will be hosting a DND event here at our lounge! Any skill level is accepted as our employee/DM Mika is working on a simple one-shot in the purr-fect world of Tabaxis (and other feline races!) To help our lounge & any future events, admission will be $9.

If you have any dice, we encourage you to bring them & be ready for a fun evening of DND! 🎲 Please refrain from bringing any mini dice or figures that may pose as a choking hazard to our kitty residents. Thank you & may the dice be ever in your favor! 🐾

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MS ORANGE & MR GREY 💕🎉 It’s our resident married couple’s birthday! Though, we aren’t entirely too sure of their age — we’re still using today as a day to celebrate them! These two have come such a long way and we are happy to have them here at the lounge to further their development with people ❣️

MOM SAID ‘COPY PASTE DNA’ WITH THIS BABY 🐾 Koalani and Binks are spitting images of each other which is adorable. Cat genetics are always super fascinating to me since you never actually know what color they will pop out (especially in rescue when we rarely know who the dads are).

Koalani gave birth to two surprise kittens over two months ago now, and they are both thriving due to our lounge manager stepping up and personally fostering them.

WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST FAMILY 🐾 This was a major rescue undertaking as there was mom, dad and four 8 week old kittens living outside in a trailer park in Lomita. We were able to catch them all after many hours and some mutli-hour drives. They all also had to get flea baths, meds, dewormer, vaccines and we are scheduling their spay/neuter. Lots of work!

This is just one example of the thousands of cat families that are in need of help and I so wish that we could say yes to them all. But this is why spay/neuter and local community grassroots rescue is SO important. Anyone and everyone is needed to tackle the overpopulation issue across the country.

I realized we have lots of photos of the kitties but not so many of the lounge space itself! So for anyone that hasn’t ever visited in person I wanted to show you what we have been able to do with the space. Working with a very low budget we have been able to provide a beautiful, enriching space for both cats and visitors. Thank you to everyone who has been able to visit and support our mission 💕

What little meow-dels! Here we have Dip and Flour doing their best modeling work 🐾

Just to give an update on the lounge it seems like adoptions are way slower for us right now. But we have SO many little kittens who are friendly, playful, snuggly and already spayed/neutered. So we’re not sure why things have slowed down but if you are considering adding to your family come on in and see who we have! We also offer foster to adopt which is a 2 week trial run to make sure a new animal will fit in with your current home or animals. No commitment at all!

MEET FLOUR 🥣 part of the bakery litter including Flour, Oat, Sugar and Ganache. They were all local kittens who were TNR’d by a community member (yayayayyyyy 🎉 we love to see it!) Well, I guess it was TNR without the Release part because luckily for them we were able to admit them to the lounge where they will find happy indoor homes and never have to struggle or die outside.

We LOVE helping out our TNR contacts for this very reason. If you ever have kittens that you can get fixed but don’t want to release back to the streets DM us for our lounge intake waitlist. & for anyone interested in adopting you can rest easy (like Flour demonstrates in this photo) that you have saved a life. That’s what we’re all about!

This may be a new lounge record. THREE kitties in one lap! The cats are the lounge right now are such a cute little crew. Most of them are super friendly and we got a few extreme cuddlers. Perfect for some cat therapy!

A HOMEOWNER AT 3 MONTHS 😅 Realtors hate this one simple trick.

Meet Martha, or Mary for short. She is a shrimpy little calico baby. We have 16 (!!!!) kittens at the lounge and it’s a bit of a kitten-bonanza now that a lot of the babies born in the spring are old enough for the lounge. Come on by or consider saving a life and bringing one home. We promise you won’t regret it 🐾

BEAT THE HEAT, there are KITTENS TO MEET 🤍This weekend (or really the rest of the summer) is going to be super hot outside. So what better way to spend a day than in nice air conditioning with kittens! We have lots of little ones like Roo and Spinach here all cuddled up. Come to the lounge and for the one admission price you can spend as much time as you want.

Momma Koalani absolutely loves them and has even taught them to bury their food! 😂 Right now, they’re getting the hang of being cats & Binks has taken right to playing with the wand toy 💕 Jarjar still likes to sit by her momma & observe things first
