Save the Meow Meows is a 501c3 non-profit rescue for cats and kittens in Southern California --primarily rescued from high-kill shelters or as strays.

Our Cat Lounge serves as a central location to save & house & hang out with the cats!

CAT CAFE VIBES 🧋Did you know we now have boba fruit teas and iced coffee? & of course everything is cute here so even the cup lids have little cat ears 😸

All drinks are just $5 and proceeds benefit our meow meow friends. Now with fall around the corner, we will switch up some flavors- what kind of drinks or flavors would you like to see?

SELFIE TIME 📸 Stu KNOWS how cute he is and he wants the world to know! Our little Stu Stu needs a very special home, with an experienced adopter who doesn’t mind occasionally being mauled. He just gets overstimulated but makes up for it by being sweet 90% of the time. He would do best in a home who can be patient and respect his boundaries. He loves treats, playtime, gives head bops and be pet on his head (anywhere else is a danger zone ⚠️ lol) For the right owner he will be purrfect- he’s a complicated little dude with some kitty PTSD after being abandoned at a high-kill shelter.

If you are interested in meeting Stu or any of our 25+ cats visit our lounge in Yucca Valley! All kitties are in need of loving homes and are already spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

1 YEAR WITH MIRI 🖤🤍

It is Miri’s anniversary here at the lounge! Originally rescued from the SEAACA shelter, this petite tuxedo lady is a bit of an allusive character. She’ll hunker down in a cozy tower or tunnel with too many visitors and will only really get zoomies to chase after her favorite plastic spring toys! Miri is quite selective with her people so if you pass her vibe check, she will happily flop over to get some pets 😻 She’s amazing with other kitties and you may spot her cuddled up or even wrestling with her kitty friends here at the lounge!

We are happy to have Miri, but we’d be even happier to see her find her forever home (definitely preferred with another kitty companion!) We hope you stop by this week to take some time to seek out the sneaky Miri, give her some snacks, and she might even let you give her some love❣️

MEOW MEOW SAVED 🐾 Meet Bagheera! He is a sweet 7 year old little fluffball that has had it rough. He was on the euthanasia list at a high-kill shelter and we were able to save him. He has an eye infection and it’s improving but will need additional treatment. He also somehow lost his tail and is a bob-tail!

OUR FIRST PET OFRENDA 🌼 In honor of Chorizo, Wirm, Mittens, and all the animals lost this year & before 💙🐾

This year we are hosting an in-store ofrenda to honor the lives of passed pets & celebrate our continued love for them. We invite you to stop by anytime with photos or even their favorite snack or toy that you would like to display. We encourage you to share stories to help honor their life with you (and don’t worry - we have tissues on hand!) Our ofrenda will be up all month in preparation for Day of the Dead at the end of the month.

MOMMA AND BABY 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛ We’re obsessed with this cute duo who are both 10/10 voids. Mom Amari and baby Alfredo love to snuggle together and Alfredo even still tries to nurse even though she’s almost the size of her mom! We would be thrilled if they went home together.

We are happy to announce our third-annual Halloween (or Meow-lloween) party! 😻🎃 Join us October 31st from 4-7pm at our cat lounge to enjoy the festivities! Vote in our kitty-costume contest, model at our spooky-tacular photo station, & enjoy tons of candy/games!

Some of the best cats are the ones being overlooked at the shelters. Consider broadening your search and giving a little extra attention and love to a kitty who needs some TLC. They can be your absolute best friend!

Happy, healthy kittens are great but there is something so special about a cat who needs help the most, finally feeling safe in a home with their own family. It’s heartwarming & such a kind thing to do with so many animals in need. Just think about it 🤍

In August we got the worst case scenario for a rescue - a box of abandoned kittens ( & bottle babies no less!) Sadly in our area they literally had nowhere safe to go - most shelters do not keep bottle baby kittens overnight and they euthanize them. Of course we couldn’t let that happen so we scrambled to find a foster.

Usually I try not to share kittens that are this young because the survival rate can be low, especially without a momma cat’s immune support. But we are happy to report that all of these cuties have been flourishing!

In the next post I will show you what they look like currently but I wanted to share these baby floofballs. Enjoy!

JERRY IS AN ARTÍST 🎨 This goofy guy deserves his own post. I’m shocked he hasn’t been adopted yet since he is the definition of an orange cat. Jerry is sweet, silly, surprisingly playful and, well, kind of dumb in the best way possible.

At our paint & sip event with .studio Jerry discovered his love for art. We think this cutie is the true masterpiece!

BROTHERS WHO BLEP 🙂😛 Rocky and James are a funny little tuxedo sibling pair we have at the lounge and you can often find them annoying and wrestling each other just like true brothers. But we captured this sweet and stilly moment that was too cute not to share!
