Save the Meow Meows is a 501c3 non-profit rescue for cats and kittens in Southern California --primarily rescued from high-kill shelters or as strays.

Our Cat Lounge serves as a central location to save & house & hang out with the cats!

MEET SESAME 🤍🐾 Sesame is a chill kitty who would love nothing more than to hang out. She is sweet, perfectly plump and in need of a loving home! Sesame is approximately 3 years old.

To meet Sesame or any of our other 25+ other adoptable kitties come visit our Yucca Valley lounge in person or visit our website to view all their profiles and submit and application. We make adoption super easy & straightforward and best of all, our meow meows are all already spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated and dewormed. We give them the full work up so you can avoid an expensive vet visit!

PAINT & SIP CUTENESS 🎨🐾 Thank you to everyone who came to the event! .studio has the best local events & we are always so excited to host fundraisers at the lounge and provide a space for the community to come together and make memories. It’s a win-win!

Our next paint & sip event will be in January and will be an adorable Valentine’s themed painting, so be on the lookout for that 💕

FOSTER KITTIES PEEP & SCRUFFY 🐾 These two cuties have been waiting their turn to go to the lounge for adoption. Sadly the #1 issue we have at the moment is getting spay appointments!

There seems to be no convenient options in the high desert and the huge demand means that appointments are booked months out.

If you are local and happen to want to help us out and do 8am standby at Animal Action League or have any other creative options please let us know. 😫

MEET PURPLE ✨She is absolutely purrfect in every way. She is an absolute sweetheart and has the prettiest eyes! Purple also loves to play so would make a great family pet.

Our adoptions recently have really slowed down which sadly affects the amount of cats we can rescue, so I urge you if you can add another furry friend to consider it. We do trial adoptions via foster -> adopt so you can try it out first!

CAN YOU HELP STORM? ☔️ This poor baby has been through so much already in her short life and she is in urgent need of a second surgery to remove a bone shard that is causing a huge abscess. It was already drained once and immediately filled back up with gross and painful fluid. The quote for this surgery is between $825- $1264 so we would absolutely love to raise as much as possible to help this meow meow. All donations to our non-profit are tax deductible!

HELP US HELP THEM 🐾 It’s Animal Shelter Appreciation Week and we would humbly ask that you consider becoming a monthly donor.

Times are tough for everyone right now and as a rescue (and animal shelter that has about 30 cats at a time) donations are at an all time low, but cost of pet supplies and veterinary care is at an all time high. Each month we barely get by so monthly donations are the BEST way to help us. Even if it’s just $5, $10, $20 - it adds up to help us truly save the lives of the most vulnerable cats and kittens.

Meow-lloween 2025 🐈‍⬛ Wanted to share some of the cuteness from the in-person pawty last night. Halloween is our favorite holiday as we gets to showcase the cuteness of our cats and celebrate black cats of course!

The winner of our costume contest was Bagheera who received a beautiful certificate and ribbon for his bunny costume. I’ll be posting all of their costumes and you can vote online - the winner will get extra treats and kisses 🥰

HAPPY MEOW-LLOWEEN 🐈‍⬛👻 YOU’RE INVITED! Come to the cutest event in town and join our 25+ cats who will be in their costumes. It will be adorable, silly and just a little spooky. Come wearing your costume! We will have complementary Polaroid photo spot, candy, pumpkin painting, tarot reading and a vote for the cutest lounge cat costume.

This is an all ages event. Admission is our usual rate of just $13 for adults and $7 for anyone under 18 years old. You are welcome to come in at any time, first come first serve.

P.S. Don’t bring your actual cat 😅 we have them at the lounge. But you better show us photos!

ARE YOU GOING TO OUR MEOW-LLOWEEN PAWTY? 🎃🐾 We are very excited to see you all in costumes and our kitties in their costumes! I know there are lots of local events happening for Halloween but this is definitely the cutest one 😉

HAPPY NATIONAL BLACK CAT DAY 🐈‍⬛🖤
We have quite the coven here at the lounge currently with 5 black cats! There are Alfredo & Amari (a daughter & mom who were found as strays), Em Dash (originally rescued with her brother from a hoarding situation), Bagheera (who has been responding super well to his wound treatment & is now cone-free!), and Frack (bonded with his brother, Frick; found as feral kittens) We love our little kitty voids / house panthers / black holes with eyes. Black cats are amazing little companions & these lounge residents - though they may look the same - are all super unique and endlessly entertaining. We highly recommend adopting a black cat as they are great pets but also are usually the last to get adopted. Do you have a black cat? Take time to celebrate them today & all their quirks!
