I introduced Thunder to the pool yesterday. She was much more comfortable after she got in the pool.

It’s getting warm out and all the dogs were running around the yard. They jump in the pool to cool off and I figured it was only a matter of time before she joined in.

Pool safety is real!!! Regardless of whether you have an inground or an above-ground, it is a must to teach your dog to get out of the pool safely. Even if your dog doesn’t like to swim, you should show them where to go to get out should they ever fall or get knocked in.

We have an above ground pool with platform steps so I spent a little time teaching her to swim back to the steps. She’s a good little swimmer, but still not quite sure about the water. Once we get back to dock diving with the other dogs, I’m sure she’ll really learn to love the water.

Her reward for swimming, her favorite stick 😂
