[ Urgent Fosterer Needed for Lassi ]

Due to land redevelopment, Lassi's factory will be shifting to a new facility. And after speaking with Ram, he shared that he will not be able to care for Lassi anymore as his employers will not renew his contract once they shift to the new facility. It's with a heavy heart that he asked us to keep Lassi and find her a home.

Therefore, we're now in urgent need to find Lassi a foster home. She is a super sweet girl but, grass trained and walks good on a leash. Medical and vet bills will be borne by us.

If you'd like to foster Lassi, do drop us a DM 🙏 In the meantime, Lassi is being held at the vet, and we are racking up in boarding fees.

[$10K of Vet Bills in 2 months 🏥]

This last 2 months has been extremely busy. We've trapped-neutered-released 6 cats, and rescued another 11 stray dogs and cats. This is NOT inclusive of our other trappings or collaborative rescue efforts with other animal welfare groups. But just from vet bills alone, we've already incurred $10,607.03 in the first two months of 2025. Again this is NOT inclusive of our logistical, operational or transport cost. This $10K is just from medical bills alone.

We are a small ground-up with a small team. Our resources are limited and we rely on collaborative efforts with other AWGs to get as many strays sterilised or rehomed. However, in some situations we have to take in animals on our own. And with large-scale redevelopment in the area that we cover, we foresee more strays losing their homes and needing to be rescued.

We are appealing for more donations to come in, so that we can continue to care and fight for our strays. We hope to not just rescue sick/injured animals, but to help as many get off the streets and find their forever home.

If you'd like to donate, you can do so via [ bit.ly/mondontsa ] or find the link to our donation form on our website (link in bio). Thank you on behalf of all our strays, our rescues and our team 🐶🐱

[Urgent Appeal for Cat Kibbles 🐱]

We're in need of cat kibbles! Every month we distribute kibbles to the migrant workers in the industrial area that we cover so they can feed the stray aninals in their factory. We need about 40 bags of 2KG cat kibbles each month to cover the entire area that we feed.

Our migrant workers serve as our eyes and ears and keep us informed when the strays are sick or injured. In this picture features Vel, papa to the 3 cats in his factory.

Last month was so hectic with alot of new rescues we had to push back our monthly distribution for almost a whole month only to find out we are short of cat kibbles.

We desperately need your help now! Help donate cat kibbles to our factory strays by purchasing them through our partner Gold-D Singapore's site. The kibbles will be automatically delivered to us.

[p.s. We still have stock of dog kibbles and are not in need of any at the moment]

[Odelia]

On Saturday we took in another rescue dog, Oliver's sister, Odelia. After taking in Oliver, Odelia has been wandering the roads in search of his brother. She has migrated from compound to compound, making it hard for our volunteers to find her. Occasionally she would show up during feeding time, but if not our volunteers would have to spend quite some time searching her past whereabouts only to find that she's migrated some where entirely new. We were worried as she is starting to move closer to bigger roads and would one day completely go missing or cross heavy traffic road junctions that could end up badly for her. Therefore we decided it was best for her to be taken off the streets.

Yesterday she had her first physical at the vet and she is generally healthy for a dog of 10 years old. However her blood panels showed that she was positive for tick fevers. We've started her on some treatment while we await a further test to confirm if it's an active or past illness.

She also had her first grooming session, possibly in her entire life, and as expected the water from rinsing her was so dirty.

She is currently being fostered. We're looking forward to the day where we can reunite Odelia with Oliver.

If you'd like to support our rescue work, do consider donate via our website!

[ Oliver Update Part I ]

Thank you everyone for sharing our last post, we have successfully found Oliver a fosterer and has since been discharged. The maggot wound in the front paw has been cleaned and stitched close. As the Medial Patella Luxation on his hind knee is an old injury and not causing him any discomfort other than a limp, we've decided not to operate to fix it. However he is severely arthritic and his joint hurts when he moves. Currently his pain is managed by a combination of pain meds but we are considering increasing the dosage or trying another combination to make him more comfortable.

We are now appealing for adopters! If you'd like to give this sweet boy a forever home, do drop us a DM!

[Oliver 🐶]

Oliver is one of the stray dogs we feed every Saturday. Together with his sister Odelia, they were abandoned by the factory when they moved out due to land redevelopment. Lately the've just been hanging around outside their factory and wandering the streets waiting for feeders to come.

For a while we've noticed Oliver walking with a limp but never thought much about it as he still comes up to greet us and ask for food, last Saturday was no different. Until Tuesday, when our volunteers went down to feed the siblings, they noticed Oliver did not come to greet them but instead just lay on the grass. There's no visible injuries and Oliver was still eating the food our volunteers put in-front of him. They reported it to us and later another volunteer came down to check on him but he was no longer there. Therefore we assumed he was fine if he could get up and leave.

On Thursday we came down to check on him and there he was laying on the grass. He ate a bit of food when we brought it to him but didn't get up at all. Our volunteer sat with him to see if he will move on his own but he did not budge for 1.5 hrs thats when we decided to call RAR to do an on-site triage. The paramedic found his BP high, O2 low and the hind leg pulse shallow. He recommended we go to a vet and as it's midnight, we had to go through emergency. When Oliver was out of the ambulance, we found the peepad under him stained with blood.

At the vet, they conducted a full physical, blood tests and x-rays. The vet found a giant hole between his front paw toes infested with maggots and had to sedate him to remove them.

His blood test came back good and he's negative for tick fevers too.

However, the x-ray found he was arthritic and his right hind leg suffered a Grade 4 Medial Patella Luxation (MPL) meaning his knee cap has shifted out of place, which explains the limp. The vet explained MPL was not caused by traffic accident but progresses over time and his body has developed muscles to compensate which is why his leg is curved.

More updates to come as treatment is still on-going but we are in urgent need of a fosterer for Oliver. If you'd like to foster him, do drop us a DM 🙏

[Christmas Distribution 🎄🎅🧑‍🎄 2024]

We had our annual Christmas Blessing Pack distribution to our migrant worker friends. These workers come to Singapore to work and earn a living so they can send money home, but they also go out of their way to feed, protect and nurture the stray animals that live in their factory. They keep us informed when the animals are sick/ injured so we can take them to the vet promptly and even help us to feed the daily medications some animals require. Therefore it was our pleasure to give them blessing packs of essential items such as Rice 🌾, Salt 🧂, biscuits 🍪, toothbrush 🪥 and more to help alleviate the cost of daily necessities. We hope more people are inspired by the dedication and kindness our migrant workers have to stray animals 🐾

Huge shoutout to Ms Anna and the folks from K. Buddhist Temple for sponsoring the essentials 🎁

Last Saturday during feeding, a migrant worker had informed us that a female cat in his factory has just given birth to neonates. As this factory was a newly added to our feeding routes, we've yet to sterilise the cats in the compound. Mama had hidden her babies and was nursing them in a waste material bin, and we were worried that someone may throw heavy/hazardous materials in without realising there are cats inside. That night we asked the worker if we could rescue the mama and her 4 babies. However the worker mentioned that the boss provides them with some cat food to feed the cats in the factory and as such he needed to ask his boss for permission if we could take them in. The next day, the worker informed us that the boss has approved and we immediately went down within the hour to pick them up.

We sent them to the vet the next morning to make sure there is nothing wrong with mama and her babies and good news, they are all healthy! Mama is FIV/ FeLV negative and producing sufficient milk to feed her babies. Mama got a little panicky when she was separated from her babies to be examined by the vet, so she had to be examined with her babies in sight. How loving and protective of her 💕

However we faced another issue, which was finding a place for mama and her babies. We had taken them in without first finding a foster or a place for them to go, but we could not risk another day leaving them in the factory as it was absolutely unsafe and unsanitary. We didn't want to medically board them as it would be way too expensive. Our team spent the whole making calls and reaching out to as many people as possible hoping to find a fosterer for them. Fortunately, towards the end of the night we were about to give up when offered to take them in 😻 They made so many arrangements just to accommodate mama and her babies and we couldn't be more grateful! Our Christmas miracle indeed 🎄

We are appealing for donations to cover the cost of mama and her babies's medical examination. If you'd like to donate, do head to our website (link in bio).

** Appeal Closed : The cost of the vet bill have been received in its entirety **

Farewell Manja 🐶💕🌈

Manja is one of the longest dogs we've been feeding. She was affectionately known amongst our volunteers as the container dog as she enjoys hiding under the container room of her favourite migrant worker, Paleani. Towards the end of her chapter on the streets, her legs becoming weaker and would tremble which was inevitable due to her age. One day Paleani called to inform us that Manja could not stand at all. We immediately made arrangements to send Manja to the vet as well as find a place for her where she can live the rest of her life off the streets. Paleani and his kind friends helped us carry all 32KG of Manja into the car that day 💪

As Manja was unable to stand, she had to be flipped every few hours and cleaned up after as she could only relieve herself where she lay. This made finding a fosterer/adopter even harder and we were racking up thousands in hospitalisation bills 😥

Fortunately, by the kindness of OSCAS, they opened a space for Manja where she could be watched over and showered with love and care. Just last weekend, Manja crossed the rainbow bridge to doggy heaven 🌈. We are grateful that she passed having experienced love and care from the team at OSCAS, surrounded by food, warmth and a roof over her head as compared to passing under a container in a factory.

We hope more people would consider donating to AWGs like who constantly support independent rescuers and small groups like us 💕

Year-end period is always a tricky time for us as most of our regular volunteers and guides are travelling ✈️ But stray feeding continues by hook or by crook and this week was no exception🥩 Last night 3 of our volunteers had to cover the entire north to western industrial estates of Singapore, a huge difference from our usual 10 volunteers each week 👥 POWER💪

Rain, shine or snow, stray feeding continues each week as our strays are counting and waiting on us 🐕🐈
