Play day at home! Trailer loading, Liberty, long lining with walk/halt transitions, back up, turns, and a bit of trotting, and lining up at the mounting block on both sides. Then back to the trailer and he self loaded for the first time!!

Samson got to be a big boy today and trailered to Gelinas Farm for a ponying lesson with Elaina Enzien. Sooo proud of how he loaded, trailered, and kept his head in a new place even with all the new experiences (cows for the first time)! And loaded right back up, calmly with no hesitation, to go back home.

Last day of our clinic with Aimee Brimhall McCord. Liberty play, mixed in with some online review towards the end. Focus on the difference between draw and follow, as well as find the herd at Liberty. Online was yield flowing from one to the other, one last crazy legs time (I need to make one for at home), and sternal lift with the introduction of a sound cue.

Yesterday was his official birthday (and I was too busy to post - sorry!)!!! He's now a yearling - and growing up soooo fast!! Getting out on the trails now, several times a week, with his buddy Ahug, being ponied. Avery Gauthier is doing a FANTASTIC job with his young horse education.

So I’m down in MA for a clinic (first and only one for this year!) and came a bit early so I could see the little mischief maker! He greeted me with nickers, hugs, kisses, followed me around the paddock, and gave more hugs. Just what I needed for my world-weary soul! 6 months old, scheduled to be gelded in another week or so, and doing GREAT!!! Avery is doing a fabulous job with him - instilling manners while retaining curiosity, confidence, trust, and fun. Hard to get good photos, as he just wanted to be right with me the whole time!
