First and most importantly, a huge thank you to the admins for allowing me to post somewhat outside of the norm!!♥️♥️

My name is Julie, I live in Florida and I’m praying for some help.

The last two years, I’ve been traveling back-and-forth to Ohio for months at a time taking care of my sister. She passed away in April, so we decided to keep two of her kitties.

We had flights to Ohio (where my sister lived) with plans to drive them back to Florida.

Due to the global outage, our flight plans were canceled so we looked into animal transport services. The one we found was highly recommended with amazing reviews.

As it turns out, the transporter made plans to pick up and drop off as many animals as possible on his way to Florida so he decided to open their crate in Commerce City Colorado and my beautiful Gizmo got out…..

The negligence is infuriating and this has been beyond heartbreaking….

Had I known they were going to go from Ohio to Florida via Colorado, I would’ve NEVER put the kitties through that! If you know me, you know I’m an animal lover and in some cases, I prefer animals over most humans♥️ (we have six rescues currently and counting!)

I’ve posted this on so many pages, animal shelter’s, NextDoor accounts of locals willing to help and Platforms in Colorado so again, I appreciate the opportunity to cast a wider net.

We have found a local TNR trapper who has successfully found many cats so now we are praying for sightings to narrow down the location. My husband also flew out last Friday and arrived home Tuesday, saddened that he couldn’t find our kitty. We now understand the complexity of the search.

The transporter said he got out at the TA at 5101 Quebec St., crossed over all six lanes of traffic as there’s not really any at 3 o’clock in the morning. He ran towards Dick’s stadium and took a right and he went as far as 60th St. near the Civic Center/City Hall.

There are neighborhoods behind those facilities plus we think he may be hiding out in the USPS Bulk facility or again in the neighborhood behind it.

We just found out Rainier has to have bilateral shoulder surgery due to a hereditary condition. He’s been limping for over a week and we went to the vet today. It’s really breaking my heart. He is taking two years to get trained for his job through a great non profit training center called Domino Service Dogs. As you know our winter fluctuates greatly with the weather and temperatures! Possibly getting a super El Niño winter (extra wet and cold)! 😳❄️ 🥶please keep your pup’s safety in mind. We will adjust to indoor play and outdoor potty breaks when warranted. (See graphic)

Meet my friend Cognac 💕🐾

I’ve been hanging out with my Besty this week. She has taken probably about two years to fully except me into her accepted people group. She’s a rescue from Do Over Dogs and is fabulous, but has a lot of separation anxiety from her mom and very protective of her home! when I first started sitting for her she would bark at me from fear for an hour or two then finally settle. Now we go on lots of walks and she snuggled me on the couch!

We spent a lot of time doing acclamation visits and getting her to trust me. Now we are besties!

My cat got out sometime between 5 and 7 am and we haven’t been able to find him. Any help is welcome. Pepper is all black declawed indoor only and very friendly. We live near 80th and Wadsworth.

*** UPDATE! Pepper came home this morning. He was lost for 24 hours.

I would love to have room for all the dogs. 😭

This is the side of rescuing that people don’t see, and just don’t realise how hard it is for us behind the scenes.
Strap in guys, while I explain.

This is Marcus.

His owner contacted me to ask me to rehome him, because….
‘He barks at other dogs and people when out so needs rehoming ’

Marcus is a 2 year old patterdale x Labrador.

He had been owned by said owner for… 5 weeks.

He’s just settling in, learning his new environment and family, and at only 2 years old he will be rather overwhelmed as well as adjusting to everything new.

Barking is how dogs communicate, and express their fears, and also excitement.

When I asked his owner what training she had been doing with Marcus to help him overcome his possible nervous behaviour, the answer was ‘he’s had none’

I explained I am full at the moment but I will let her know when I had room to fit him in.

2.5 hours later I receive a call from a vet practice.

Marcus had been taken to the vets to be EUTHANISED.

Put to sleep.
To end his life, because his owner could not be bothered to put any time or training into him.

THANKFULLY, the vets refused and called us.
They spoke to their behaviourist while they were there, and offered the owner sessions to help Marcus- the owner declined.

Killing him was the easy way to end her problem.

So, of course, with fear the owner would then just go to another vet and put him to sleep- I made room.
I don’t have room, but I’m not having it.

Marcus has been with us less than half an hour.
He has sat, taken a treat very gently.
Has met 6 dogs- enjoyed a sniff and his tail hasn’t stopped wagging

He hasn’t barked yet.

Too many people are getting pets without any consideration to the time they need to adjust, and expecting them to be ‘perfect companions’ without actually putting anything into them.

Take some responsibility and invest the time into them, you chose them to be part of your family. Stop destroying them just because you cannot be bothered to help them.
It’s not their fault.

You are safe Marcus, and loved.
You will never be treated so badly again, and that I can promise.

I found this sweet girl Ellie across the street from her house. She had busted out through a screen in a window that was open. She was hot and all by herself. Her mom is out of town and her dad was not home. I got ahold of the mom on but the dad’s phone was left at home. Mom’s phone number was almost completely worn off of the tag.  😍😎🐾

Luckily we connected and she gave me the front door code to let her back in and instructed me to lock Ellie and her sister in the kitchen so no more escapes were possible until dad got home. I also carry an extra leash and a water bowl in my car at all times!
