As you can see the kit is fully revived and ready to be returned to it's mother.
After 15 min of being beside the heater the kit is fully revived and in search of it's mother's milk. You can see the mouth opening.
The kit also needs to get as much oxygen as it can.
After 10 min of being beside the heater the kit is starting to regain movement of it's stiff arms as well as legs. It even takes a few breaths.
After 5 min beside the heater his leg started to move just a bit.
The kit is ice cold, stiff, and appears dead. It even has frozen fluid in his nostrils.
The kit is now in a coma like state and if it isn't warmed up soon the heart will stop.
(If the kit does not respond in 5 min we will do a mini CPR. Thumb carefully presses on the chest to force the heart to pump blood)

Maybelline dug a huge tunnel in the playground area a few weeks back. We didn't think anything of it until we saw she had little kits in her pen. ❤🐰
This is how rabbit kits are born in the wild. A burrow keeps them safe from the wind and predators.
I would have preferred she have them in the nest box but....mother knows best right?
