Charlie- The Shelter JRT was rescued from North Central Animal Shelter on 7/2/17. He's 14 years old.

Today is the 2 year anniversary of Charlie’s rescue from the shelter. I keep his Teddy within eyesight wherever I call home.

Charlie’s 14 months with us was filled with love, patience, and understanding. He had some serious aggression and behavioral issues but we never gave up. Watching him slowly overcome his fear and become a part of the family was immensely rewarding and we would do it all again.

Charlie was diagnosed with a**l gland cancer yesterday. His vet said that he was already in pain and showed signs of discomfort. His recommendation was to immediately put him down to avoid imminent suffering. Today Amy Liming and I took him for a walk in the mountains, a steak lunch, and lots of love and playtime. A specialist came to the house and took care of the unmentionable part while we held him close.
