I made my first ever batch of butter and buttermilk when we got home! It had a couple days to sit in the fridge and separate. I got everything set up first thing when I walked into the door lol.

The collage is if Stage 1, 2 and 3 of the butter process. The cream fluffs up, turns to whip cream, and then after pushing it for awhile (even when you think its never going to happen) suddenly it separates into delicious butter and buttermilk! Washed the butter in an ice bath and stored everything back in the fridge. 🧈🥛☺️💜

Omg what a rush!!! We have our first farm-born calf! We’ve raised bottle babies before but Bessie(shorthorn x Jersey cross) had her first baby and I’m sooo proud of her!! She did amazing 🥰 I got covered in cow goop 🥲🙄 but such is farm life. Hank(purebred jersey) is a proud dada too.

Hard work paid off. Two of them were limp and I spent hours warming them and milking some colostrum from mama. Eventually they all proved they can nurse and are good to rest for a little bit before checking in again. Not totally out of the woods but definitely happy with how far we have come 😮‍💨🥲🥹

Ready to go check on some goats 🐐😁

Should have some goat babies here soon and we are very excited. The mamas have slowed down a bit the last couple days and seem to be hanging out in their usual favorite spots to kid.

Got some new fabric to play with. Really love our local fabric shop they have aisles upon aisles of fabric to shop from. They have some beautiful panels including the one I purchased in this photo. Can’t wait to see what I can come up with from these 🥰

Love watching these turkeys grow and thrive. It’s always bittersweet raising livestock. I’m also so attached to them as babies but also very grateful to be able to raise meat for our freezer. 🥲

Turkeys are all set up for the night ! Glad they are finally out of the brooder they were way too big to be in there anymore. Now they have a nice teenage pen to grow into before moving to their final adult space !! ***Going to add some enrichment and a nice little hideaway for them. Heat lamp only for the first couple nights to acclimate them.

We got our very first itty bitty quail egg 🥚!!!

We have a breeding pair of black belly sheep up for sale. We taking a break from sheep so we can restructure our set up. These two are both proven. Female has had two sets of twins and one set of triplets.

🤣 vet visit for Clemie we had quite the scare but she is on the mend now thankfully 💗 we learned a few things to improve the quality of our herd and have implemented some new practices to make sure everyone stays healthy and happy!

Nothing I love more than sitting in the crisp air, listening to the water run, the duckies and chickens forage while talking amongst themselves… truly peaceful and helps recenter myself. Taking this time for myself in the morning is just what I needed.

Muscovy ducklings are so cute 🥰 it’s so precious seeing them born with their flock mates and enjoy the water. This was them all snuggling up fir a early afternoon nap 😴🥰

It’s been a long week. Ryan and I were sick and then had a weeks worth of catch up to do on chores and animal care. I also took a break from IG but will be back to posting regularly again about the farm and such 💜 Anyway, enjoy this cute picture of Bessie grazing while we got some fresh air and picked some blackberries 🥰
