Did you know your pet's microchip will not help locate them if they go missing? Microchips can only help identify them after they've been found. But to keep your pet safe, you want to make sure they never go missing in the first place. That's where GPS trackers come in. With live GPS tracking technology, you can pinpoint your furry friend’s exact location instantly -- saving you a lot of panic and heartache.
A pet owner's first line of defense against a missing/lost pet is GPS tracking. A microchip is valuable for identification after your cat or dog goes missing (which is still very important), but a GPS tracker can prevent that from happening to begin with.

A microchip is injected at your vet's office. Once your pet is found, a person finding it would contact any vet office or animal shelter and check if there is microchip. If there is, there will be unique ID which can be used by the vet or the animal shelter to notify the owner that they have your pet. A GPS collar can be paired with a mobile phone app to show you where your pet has been and therefore let you locate it easier.

The cheapest option to track your pet is Apple Air Tag but it will only work in the densely populated areas such as cities etc. as it relies on the signal being picked up by an Apple mobile device such as cell phone or iPad and send an info to Apple which in turn will give you a fairly accurate location where your pet is. If you are living in rural area or smaller communities you may want to opt for a true GPS tracker which typically requires a monthly subscription but does not rely on proximity to a cell phone or other compatible device.

So, I had been quiet for few months, enjoying the peace and tranquility of a cat's life. And yes, I had been modelling too (this tuxie is going places). I had been recently picked as a poster boy for my good friends as Spay and Neuter Clinic Edmonton.

Although those guys stole my cathood long ago (yes ladies I am fixed so no cute kittens from me), they also saved my tail (I mean it literary) and patched me up few times when I was still thinking I was a strong tomcat and got my tail chewed by some neighbourhood party crusher orange tabbies and their cronie gang of stray cats, so it is all forgiven.

I made great friends with Dr. Chana and Dr Toor so when I was called to pose for one of their social media posts, I showed my best whiskers for the occasion. And here is the result (don't I look cute LoL).

So if you are from Edmonton (Let's Go Oilers Let's Go) please consider visiting them for all your pet needs, they in my opinion are the best veterinarians the cat can wish for. And yes, dogs are welcome there too. And if you are not from Edmonton or are happy with your vet, that is OK too, you can still check their page for one of best places to learn interesting facts about your cat or your dog (yes I just said the D word, LoL

So this morning I played a bit of a prank on my owner letting him believe I am undergoing the act of mitosis (Mittens Mitosis lol). As he was working, my owner hears me calling at the door to let me back in. He opens the door, I walk in, he closes the door and goes to the kitchen to get a glass of water. Hears me meow outside again, opens the door I walk in again. He turns around and this is what he sees, me and my Mittens impersonator standing next to each other ROFL LIKE-SHARE-FOLLOW

What started as a social learning exercise by my three favourite humans, turned me into a mini celebrity.

When it comes to companion animals, dogs are often mentioned. But did you know that cats are just as good in doing the job especially with special needs persons.

Cats create strong bond with their handlers eapecially kids. They are usually more docile than dogs and like to spend long hours with their companions. They are very tolerant of their companions and will show care and affection to their handlers even tolerating ocassional tail pull or other mischief by their handler.

Cats also require less care than dogs. They do not need to be bathed as often as they groom themselves very often so there is very little odor they produce. While some breeds like longhair and angora shed a bit but common varieties like domestic short hair are manageable with minimum grooming.

Did you also know that cats purr at the frequency that is scientifically proven to heal the body even help a broken bone heal faster. So when you feel down and the lil furball cuddles next to you, he is doing his best to keep you healthy both physically and mentally.

Hooray, I am coming home today, it is confirmed.

Now with that in place, I have one more small favour to ask from all my friends, those I already know and many more whom I met on my now famous page,

My fundraising campaign is not going so well. I have only collected about $220 dollars from my friends. I am a proud cat and I do not like to beg (maybe for treats but let's keep this between us). But today I stand before you with my big eyes and my snow white paws, asking you if you could help.

Even a small donation of $5 or $10 will help and I thank you. My humans are so nice, they paid for my bill but I hate to saddle them with this huge responsibility and being a proud kitty I am, I'd like to help them. But I need your help ...

I am doing well so far. I am still in the hospital being taken care by friendly people at Pulse Veterinary Clinic in Sherwood Park. I cannot wait to come back home to be with my human family and wanted to say thanks to everyone who came to visit my page and shared / liked it.

Big thanks go to my friends who have donated to help me pay for my bill and special thanks go to Dr. Channa and Dr. Tor of Edmonton Spay and Neuter Clinic, the two best vets the cat can have. Dr Channa took me in right away yesterday and helped direct me to emergency so thank you from me and my human family.

So, I had been asked to once again lend my paw and share my story.

I came to join my family as a young kitten, last of my siblings, donated by nice people from a farm just south of Edmonton. I was brought in as a companion pet for my human friend Matej, a young boy that was going through some rough times with his health at the time.

My other human, Sergej was born with severe allergies to dogs so I had to step in and I took my job very seriously. I bonded with Matej, Sergej and Lana my little humans and I love them all but I am especially fond of Matej and you can often find me in bed with him or cuddled near him when he is studying or playing games with his friends online.

It takes a special kind of cat and special training to do my job, I needed to be gentle, patient, good with kids and being able to pick up on when my little human needs me. I did all this with no particular training and I excelled in it. I love not only Matej but all kids, I am gentle and forgiving even when my tail gets pulled from time to time by some young visitors and once I even volunteered to be a foster mom for some very young orphan gooslings (I promise to share that story very shortly as soon as I am back from hospital).

My job is around the clock and I do not charge a lot, a gentle pat on the back, some cuddle time, play with my favourite string and I love those Cat Temptation treats. That is my life in simple terms, and I hope to return to it soon as my humans miss me. See you all soon,
