This year has started off with a BANG.

Myrthe Mellema and her ponies did very well at the Valentines show that was held at CVRC(Constantia Valley Riding CLub
) 11 February.
It was a show for many first time experiences.

She competed her new pony Beachhaven Blaze and came home with a respectable 2nd place , great things to come from this pair.
Harmonie Vaband came home with a 2nd in the 80cm class and Shamrock had a beautiful clear.
Black Tiger and Myrthe did their first 1m classes, they had a good first round with 1 pole. Their second round was a beautiful clear round and they won the class. What a way to start the year.

Hiro Manz and her new pony CDE Balmoral had their first show together.
They competed in the 60cm and came 4th out of 42 riders. Great things to come from this pair.

Looking forward to the coming up Showjumping and SANESA shows being held in March.

Myrthe Mellema and Harmonie Vabond competed at WP Dressage championships held at SDRC this past weekend. They team pointed their way to victory in the warm up and championship class with very impressive scores of 74% and 72%. Absolutely stunning tests to watch.

It is with tremendous pride that I am happy to announce Myrthe Mellema and Harmonie Vabond have won Trophies for the Top Primary School Horse/ Rider combination, as well as Top Boerperd Horse / Rider combination at SANESA Nationals 2023 held at Kyalami Equestrian Park, in JHB.

This incredible accomplishment was achieved through hard work, determination, a drive for always improving oneself, and pure LOVE for the PONY (VB).
They represented Western Province SANESA A teams for the following disciplines and here are their resaults:

- Eventing Pony Rider 75 finishing with SILVER medal (2nd) and achieving the highest dressage overall score of the day 76,9%.
- Performance Riding level 5, GOLD medal (first place).
- Showjumping 2 phase 80cm, 4th place.
- Prix Caprilli 2nd place score of 69,2%.
- Dressage Pony Rider Novice 4, GOLD medal (first place) 74,6%.
- Dressage Pony Rider Novice 5, BRONZE medal (third place) 71,8%.
- Working Hunter Pony Rider 80cm, 8th.
- Equitation Novice 70cm, BRONZE (third place).

I am very proud to be a part of this team, and look forward to our future together.

Bianca Maxwell on Mr President, and Myrthe Mellema on Harmonie Vabond, have made the Winelands teams in their respective disciplines for SANESA Regionals. Very proud to be their instructor. Incredibly proud of this pair coming third in the Dressage SA CHALLENGE PR Novice. They competed against a tough field of 17 pony riders from various provinces in South Africa. Carrying the Western Cape flag high with an average score of 74,022% being just short of the winner who attained a score of 75,326%.

Our next big challenge is SANESA Nationals which we are working towards.

This past Saturday Myrthe Mellema and Harmonie Vabond competed at WP leg of DSA Challenge. They danced to victory with two beautiful tests 74% and 75% taking home the PR Novice Trophy. This pair is marvellous.

Seeing as the kids were having all the fun . Claire Stier and myself dusted off our eventing boots and had a fabulous open day at SDRC 1 May. Huge efforts were put into the grounds. This was a beautifully organised event and fun was had by all. Here is a clip of Claire Stier and VIVO having fun over some brown jumps.

Seeing as the kids were having all the fun . Claire Stier and myself dusted off our eventing boots and had a fabulous open day at SDRC 1 May. Huge efforts were put into the grounds. Noordhoek Eventing 22 & 23 April was next. Myrthe and Harmonie Vabond had a beautiful dressage and clear showjumping. Then the rain started in true Cape Town fashion,unfortunately the cross country was postponed due to the ground being declared unsafe and on the following Thursday was cancelled for the same reason. Myrthe and Harmonie Vabond won their class on their dressage score 28,1 penalties. The video attached is proof of this beautiful team's results.
