This dog epitomises the phrase Gentle Giant, a rescue cane corso with superb temperament and a heart of gold. He needs a little help on the lead but mainly he's learning to keep focused when the entire world is just so intriguing.

We're back with another Rottweiler!
This gentle giant already has a high level of obedience thanks to his diligent owners but a recent dog incident has left this lovable character with a bad taste in his mouth. We have been out and about teaching him that it's ok to walk away.

This beautiful fox red girl was a little timid to start but soon got going once she was outside on the lead. Although she has been doing great work with other areas of obedience, heelwork has always been a challenge.
I'm happy to report that with a little bit of guidance she was walking exactly where she needed to and giving a fair bit of engagement whilst doing so.

This boxer made an exemplary student in her heelwork session this afternoon. Did everything required and was gratefully rewarded for her hard work.

Here we have a very handsome set of brothers. However they are not as identical as they look, after an incident with another dog some mild reactivity has developed so we have been working through that behaviour today and learning to make better decisions when stressed.

Heelwork was the word of the day today with these dogs, with patience and practice we will be out on those loose leads with owners who no longer come home with sore shoulders.

Will you look at this majestic boy, he may be big and strong but he's also very loving.

Lovely training walk this afternoon with this freshly groomed fella. We have been working on a variety of behaviours over the last few weeks and I am pleased to report excellent progress with his engagement and good behaviour when around other dogs and similar distractions in the park.

Would you believe me if I told you this dog used to bark and jump up at the TV? Look at her now!

This update is a testament to her owners hard work and persistence. Attenborough can once again grace the screen.
More challenges are on the horizon but the first hurdle is always the hardest.

This band of brothers has been working on respecting each others space as well as general obedience and heelwork.
Although they look a handful I can tell you they are all very lovable. Who doesn't love a good bulldog!

Now you don't see one of these everyday do you?
This fluffy boy has had his second visit today and has made good progress. Todays lesson has been learning to settle down and resist nibbling his owners shoes.

Butter wouldn't melt with those eyes, this interesting mixed breed required a little help keeping all four paws on the ground, especially around visitors.
With a click and some homemade liver cake to help the lesson sink in this energetic lad will be keeping all four feet firmly planted.

Another sign off for this star pupil today. Although we have only spent 14 hours together all this dogs progress has to be attributed to her wonderful owners, whose consistent, hardworking and persistent efforts really shine through in their dogs behaviour and obedience.
What started with home manners and behaviour quickly progressed into recall, heelwork and obedience around distractions both big and small, all of which has been handled with flying colours.
I look forward to hearing about all her future adventures.
A massive well done to both dog and owners!

This clever Papillon is very good at communication with his human but sometimes gets overwhelmed by other dogs. We utilized that great communication connection during our walk to help him make better decisions when things get a little too much.

Todays client may have had a difficult start in life but she now finds herself putting roots down in a fabulous new home. We're working on general obedience and teaching her that there are other ways to cope with her big feelings than using her voice.

This little fire cracker proves that size is just a mindset. Despite her stature she has some big feelings around other dogs. The focus of our session was rewiring her response to those triggers and giving her a better choice in order to resolve them.

After 12 weeks of training these three lovely ladies have been signed off and are ready to go out and practice all they've learnt. It's been a delightful journey of which I am proud to be a part of.

Seen this big boisterous boy today, he was a little unsure to begin with but we were best friends by the end of the session.
He's still learning the house rules but he's eager to please so I'm sure he'll be a cracking dog before long.

Ever wondered why our dogs turn in circles before stopping to stoop?

Inspired by a recent client question during our weekly training session I dug a little deeper into this particular behavioural quirk.

According to research dogs prefer to go along the north south axis of the earths magnetic field and given the choice avoid either east or west.

As some of you may know I have a senior dog. Our partnership began when he was 18 months and now he is a very grey 12 year old.
As our dogs age joints inevitably suffer as our faithful friends slow down in their golden years.
I would personally like to recommend this supplement to those owners who are looking at aiding any dog that may be struggling with their joints.
