Welcome to Pat A Pony!
Following an overwhelmingly positive response to a local Facebook post, we are in the process of preparing to open up our stable to the public. This page has been set up to inform you of our progress and give a daily insight into stable life. Over the years we have welcomed a number of local children and visiting grandchildren of friends to spend time with the ponies and get involved with helping to groom them which is always fun! Recently we have seen a growing interest in SEN and positive mental wellbeing activities. Horses have been proven to help with social and emotional development, reduce stress and anxiety and increase confidence so we are excited to welcome anyone who may find this beneficial. The plan is to hopefully be open in time for the summer holidays.
We are a private stable located in Chilton, Oxfordshire and have been here for over 20 years. Currently there are 17 horses in our care, ranging in age and size from miniature shetlands to ex race horses. A number of the horses have been rescued from difficult situations, the most extreme being potentially euthanised.
Each horse has a unique character and brings us much joy, which is why we would like to offer the opportunity for the local community to share our experience. We are planning a fun Open Day where you will be able to meet the horses, learn their stories and enjoy activities. Our aim is to be enjoyable, affordable and inclusive.
