Y’all did so amazing!!! It was Vickie’s first show with us, Whitney’s first time showing Bruno (and she broke her leg earlier this year!), + Cardyn & Haley tried their hand (successfully) in the reining..after learning the pattern yesterday. Very excited to see how this winter buckle series plays out for our group! Excited for the next!

If there was a perfect example of someone who sticks up for her horse and is always making sure she’s doing what was best for him always- it would be Whitney. These two have been through a lot together, but they both have overcome huge obstacles and I am so beyond proud of them. ❤️

MF Romp and Skip “Skip” is a 2004 (19yo) AQHA fleabit grey gelding. He’s got a lovely w/t/l, good on trails, good for confident kids and was ridden by an adult beginner for a while. Lower in the pecking order. Easy to catch, great on the ground, no vices. You can pull him out after months of not riding and he goes around like he hasn’t had a day off. UTD on all worming, vet work, farrier, chiro, etc. Minimal maintenance- he was a barrel horse in his younger years and so has some arthritis in his left knee from it. Just recently had that knee injected, so all good to go there. Owner previous to current owner failed to give his AQHA papers, but we have a picture of them. For someone who wants to leisurely trail ride, has a confident kiddo, or someone who just wants to have a horse they can play with, he’s the perfect horse. 5k obo, located in Colorado. Marcus and Lopin Like It’s Hot were 1st w/t pleasure, 5th in hand trail, 5th HMS, 1st halter, reserve champ overall halter. Whitney Henning
Terra and CC Driftn Dakota Bum were 3rd in the Ranch Riding Terra King
Haley and Easy Diamond Chic were 5th in the HMS and didn’t place in the RR this show with a few bobbles but they’ll get it at the next one ❤️ Haley Lynn
Brittany and Chester were 4th w/t pleasure, 3rd HMS rail, and 4th in the w/t ranch riding Brittany Walker
Cardyn and Goober were 5th in the ranch riding Lanie Holbrook
Alyssa and Boone were 1st in the HMS and 2nd in the w/t ranch riding
Scarlet and Rainny had some real solid rides, Rainny decided it wasn’t quite her day but Scarlet still kicked it and in one of the best show fits yet 😍
Addison and Legacy continued to build confidence and had some of the best riding I’ve seen at the shows for them as a team yet. Scarlet Mick
This was one of the biggest shows I’ve seen at Aurora Horsemen Foundation with huge class numbers, so much so that we didn’t show the ranch riding till almost 8 at night 😳 but it was a BLAST! Love seeing the spike in attendance- I’m ready for the next one! ❤️

Huge congrats to Cardyn and the Holbrook (Lanie Holbrook) family on the purchase of OSR Gunnin For A Cat-“Dino”. Dino is a grandson of Docs Hickory (21+ million dollar sire) on top and a great grandson to the legendary High Brow Cat (86 million dollar sire) on bottom. Excited to see where these two go as a team! Huge thank you to Brooke Lobue for selling him to us. ❤️

We had two new teams compete yesterday and both with lots of success…
Addi showed her 3yo mare Legacy for the first time in the AHA Pleasure show and was in the ribbons in all of her classes.
Haley was thrown to the wolves today (literally) after just getting her show teammate for the summer - Dove (yes, my girl Dove🕊️) on Thursday …quick adaption and learning a new horse fast, the patterns fast, and putting in the work beforehand resulted in 1st in the Ranch Riding. Incredibly proud of both as Dove has been out of commission for months with me trying to get her bred. I figured now that Dove is open, she can go to what she loves to do- work and show! And that she did. Right off to work, showed with no fuss and slept most of the time in the warmup 🤣 very very excited about this duo.
Scarlet and her w/t pattern machine Rainny were 3,3,2 in their classes respectively. Scarlet has such poise and the judges reward her for it!
Cardyn & Goober had some personal best runs and in the biggest classes they’ve been in yet. They’re continuing to dial in together and Cardyn impresses me every time with her good attitude and work ethic. She was in the ribbons in most of her classes as well.
Marcus & Bruno had their second show today- first rail class- and won it. 🥇 Bruno is really shaping up to be quite a nice horse.❤️
Terra and Finn should’ve won an award for best dressed and Terra finally entered a class I could paint his legs for and tail in so I was ecstatic. 😆 Ribbons for this team, too.
Last but most certainly not least- Brittany and Chester knocked it out of the park AGAIN and were 1,1,5,2,….making them w/t high point of the day and winning a nice pair of stirrups. Woohoo!!!!
Beyond proud of everyone yesterday, and excited for the next one!!!! Let’s get it!

Show prep in full swing , even with the huge amounts of rain our area has been getting. All of the moisture makes for awful pretty photos though! Beautiful!

Self carriage takes a long time for horses to learn and even longer to master. Ice went from having very, very limited knowledge on how to use his body to loping laps in the arena keeping his shoulders under me and going forward, and being responsive to my hand cue to make bigger body control moves if needed. Time and patience is the key to properly and confidently teaching your equine partner 😊 Good horse, Icers!!! 😍

Gotta give credit where credit is due and Terra King has been putting in the WORK since the very beginning. Terra and her equine partner Finn are such a lovely duo and all of that hard work paid off when they placed 1st in their first Ranch Riding class last month. Great Job, Terra!!! 🥰

What a phenomenal first show for the crew!! Even though the whole team couldn’t make it out to play- Lots of firsts for many, lots of growth, and lots of fun!
Huge congrats to all horses and riders, including but not limited to Whitney Henning Marcus, Julia Chapman, Beth Plentl, Grace Havel, Angel Reese, Lanie Holbrook Cardyn, and last but not least (and winning a stacked class of Ranch Riders), Terra King. What fun!!! Onto the next one!

NOLY Quarter Horses owned mare, Arizona has been doing phenomenal recently. I started this mare in my program as a 2yo, and Kevin purchased her from me summer of her 2yo year. Now, we are getting fit and more broke, I will show her in the Ranch Riding events this summer. Very happy with how fast she’s catching up and even more excited for the future of this mare. 😊
Denver had both me and Kinsley laughing out loud during our lesson last week- the video is too good not to share!! This little guy has a huge personality-excited to see the partnership with these two continue to grow 😊 Heather Courage
