It was a busy weekend at Mika’s Aussies. Our son graduated from Highschool, so we had a house full of people celebrating. We had a good number of kids also so the puppies got to meet them and play with them. Lots of socialization accomplished. The puppies all did really well with the kids and were comfortable around them. Puppies also got their pen upgraded with 2 crates to get them used to them. First few hours in their new area and I found them all huddled up in one crate 😂❤️. This is a good start. They are also doing really well with their litter box. We still have 2 boys available, please pm for more info, or schedule a video call to meet them.

The Australian Shepherd is known as a "Double Coated" breed. Meaning that it has the topcoat, but it also has a fuzzy undercoat that helps to regulate its temperature in the cold & in the warm~ just like insulation does with your house. BUT you MUST make sure that the undercoat is kept brushed out right to their skin in order for it to work correctly. When brushed out correctly, you should be able to run a greyhound comb easily thru their fur WITHOUT it catching or pulling. If you find that it IS dragging, then you must go back thru that area, line brushing, in order to remove the dead undercoat so that your Aussie's coat can breathe as it is supposed to....

🔥HOW MUCH FOR A PUPPY?

Let me say a few words to you, yes you, the person who texts an email to just ask for the price. The person who calls and hears a price surprisingly says: ′′ I can buy a cheaper puppy somewhere else ". I'll talk to you too; the person who doesn't care about papers because I want ′′ just a pet ".
No dog is ′′ just a pet ".
Behind every purebred puppy / dog is a BREEDER. I use capital letters to distinguish a breeder from an animal factory or mill. A serious breeder does not breed dogs without documents that do not protect the integrity of the breed.
Registration (papers) are records of ancestry documenting the bloodline and enabling you to investigate possible health problems in your lineage.
When you tell a breeder you don't care about paper, tell them you don't care less about puppy health, you just want the cheapest thing you can find!
If you choose to buy a puppy from a reputable and quality breeder, this breeder is responsible for every puppy's health.
This breeder will skip vacation, miss sleep, and most of his personal home space has been transformed into space for his dogs. The truly passionate breeder, who loves what he breeds, puts all his life's blood into it. Not only for puppies that are sold, but also for every customer who owns a piece of their heart and is now a member of their large family. This does not take into account puppies / dogs that may be getting sick or need extra help to thrive. Breeders worry about their babies after leaving and take them back without question.
A breeder will get his hands dirty, often covered in everything that comes with birth. Because that's what life is all about... in the midst of birth and death is life. The wheel that keeps spinning. A breeder conducts tests, echoes, x-rays, analytics, emergency C cuts, vaccinations, registration throws, research pedigrees, deworming and microchips of his puppies and has them examined by specialists.
Last but not least, a breeder CHOOSES for the family who is lucky enough to have one of their puppies. Yes, you read correctly. A real breeder chooses who he sells to because he doesn't make money selling. There is no compensation that can offset the investment a breeder has made, so they must be able to rely on it to be the right choice. Often more than saying yes...
A good breeder has other criteria for those who want to continue his bloodline, why? Since breeding isn't a responsibility to take lightly, it's a lifestyle choice reserved ONLY for the few devoted people willing to sacrifice.
Since a dog is never ′′ just a pet!!! he is the legacy of the breeder, a little boy's best friend, a protector of a little girl, therapy for elderly, a member of the family, someone's whole world!!!

We welcomed Mika’s final litter into the world yesterday! 6 beautiful and healthy puppies 💕 We are taking applications! 🤎🐶💕 (we are planning on keeping one of the blue Merle females to continue our breeding program)

As breeders we don’t write a lot about the sorrows/pain in breeding, or the sleepless nights and stress it brings, because we focus on the positive: fluffy babies that we love to the uttermost. We would do anything for our pups. This gave me an idea. I should make a post of one of our pups who would not have survived had I not been up every hour of the night for the first week of its life. New post coming on that precious boy. 💕

Words can not explain how devastating it can be to loose a newborn puppy in your hands. To spend thousands on a dog and raise it for years only to be told it has failed health testing and it's breeding and working dreams are over before they begin. To loose energy, sleep, money, and heart with the aging and passing of our dogs.

Equally words can't explain the moment a newborn puppy takes its first breath, a family holds their puppy for the first time, seeing a puppy grow into an adult and thinking that's one of my dogs, one of my legacy.

The pain is worth the small moments.

Another updated photo from one of our puppy families this morning. Breccan is such a sweet and beautiful boy. He is so much like his momma with his daddy’s eyes. We look forward to introducing him to his youngest siblings. Play dates with our puppies are alway welcome, and so much fun. The connection we have with each puppy lasts a lifetime. We love hearing from our puppy families.💓Updates are the best! Got photos this morning from Samson and Delilah (siblings from different litters) They are stunning! We get together for play dates several times a year and it is a joy each time, so see them grow into these beautiful adults, being cherished and loved by their people. We love being able to bring families the best fur companions on earth. Aussies are that! And we pride in raising them with the highest standards possible. We pour our hearts and souls into each puppy. And to hear what our families think of each puppy brings me such joy!

When your puppy families send you gifts because they think of you when they see something: that’s priceless! It means so much, we are forever bonded by the love of an Aussie. Here is a cute T-shirt that Mrs Celia mailed me this morning. She is Paddington’s momma. He is the sweetest, snuggliest and mild tempered boy💕. We can’t wait for him to come meet his siblings in a couple weeks.
