Check out this cutie!

There is another new baby at the zoo! 🧡 François' langur monkeys Yan Yan and Tao recently welcomed a baby to the troop. The infant and mother are doing well, and the rest of the troop has been curious and gentle with the little one. You can spot the new baby easily, as young langurs are bright orange in color for a few months. Stay tuned for updates.

Birth announcement! Cleveland Metroparks Zoo recently welcomed a Francois langur baby on July 16! This is the second offspring for mom, Glora and dad, Vinh. Francois langur babies are born an orange color and will start to darken to the adults black haircoats within a few months. Guests can visit the new baby on the second floor of The RainForest during regular Zoo hours.

Các bạn đừng hiểu lầm, không phải cả 2 đều là con của Lilly. Một trong 2 em bé là con của Ami, một cô voọc khác trong đàn.

Thi thoảng, chúng ta sẽ bắt gặp cảnh 1 mẹ 2 con trong đàn voọc. Nhiều người sẽ tưởng chúng sinh đôi, nhưng điều này là rất hiếm khi xảy ra. Nếu để ý kĩ thì chúng ta sẽ phát hiện ra rằng có nhiều hơn một bà mẹ trong đàn.

Don't get it wrong, not both of them are Lilly's children. One of the babies is the child of Ami, another langur in the family.

Occasionally, you might catch the moment of one mother having two babies in a langur troop. Perhaps you will think the baby are twins, but actually this is very rare to happen. If you look carefully, you will discover that there is more than one mother langur in the family.

Did You Know?: The François’s Langur (Trachypithecus francoisi) goes by many names including the Brow-Ridged Langur, the Tonkin Langur, the Tonkin Leaf Monkey and the White Side-Burned Black Langur. It is native to Southeast Asia from southeastern China to central Laos and northern Vietnam. In the last 40 years, The François’s Langur general population has decreased by over 50%. It is currently listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Habitat Loss is the most series threat to the species.

Today we have a HUGE birthday to celebrate at the Philadelphia Zoo! Quý Báu is turning 1 today and her incredible journey to this first birthday is worth celebrating!

Quý Báu was born to first-time parents last year, and mom wasn't exactly sure how to take care of her initially. Thanks to lots of hard work and dedication from the zoo's animal care staff, Quý Báu remained healthy and thriving while they worked to get her back with mom and help Mei Mei figure out how to take care of her. Before long Mei Mei was carrying Quý Báu around like a pro and just look at her now!!!

Huge shout out to all the staff at Philadelphia Zoo involved in reaching this momentous milestone and a Happiest of Birthdays to Quý Báu!!

A HUGE Quarter Century Birthday wish heading out to The Toledo Zoo today for Ashes who turns 25 today!

Ashes is the second oldest Francois Langur in North America and is a superstar langur mom! She is currently raising her youngest offspring, 2-year-old Ember, but has raised 8 other langurs for a total of 9 offspring over the years!!! Happy Birthday, mama!!!
