If you’ve been following along with Freya’s story, you’ll know that mealtimes were typically in the crate for the safety of everyone (including the cats!) in the home.
This session was the first time Freya had eaten out in the open AND with her owner within close proximity. 👀
To be able to disengage mid-chomp was a HUGE win. Even her owner was shocked this was possible!
Round of applause for her owners putting in the work to get Freya here 👏. A little bit of harmony and a LOT of peace of mind has been restored in the home.

Before our program together, Freya’s owners couldn’t even go near her crate while her bowl was present. You can see in the video how serious she was about this!
Now, meal cleanups are much more peaceful and no one is at risk of getting hurt.

Are you having issues with your dog jumping? Sitting or staying in one spot when asked? Let’s chat.
People often look for situational fixes for problem behaviours but aren’t looking at the big picture.
The questions we should be asking ourselves as owners: does my dog respect me in every scenario? Do I hold them accountable when giving a command or do I give up when they take too long? 👀
➡️ If you’re allowing your dog to jump on guests when he/she is happy, then you can’t be mad when they jump up when you’re holding a plate of food.
➡️ If you’re only serious about asking for a ‘sit’ before giving them dinner, then you can’t be mad when they don’t comply outside of that.
The takeaway from this video: work on the behaviour in multiple scenarios and hold your dog accountable when asked. Teach them what these commands ACTUALLY mean, rather than only practicing in certain cases.

Do you ever hold the leash back when your dog is greeting someone *just in case* they get too excited?
It’s a natural reaction, but what you might not realize is this exact habit actually causes their excitement. 😱
TENSE LEASH 🟰EXCITEMENT 🟰 IMPULSIVE DECISIONS (jumping, barking, nipping, over-arousal, etc.)
What you SHOULD do next time you’re in this situation is keep the leash slack.
By doing this, you get the best of both worlds: you’re giving your dog the freedom to engage while remaining in control of the situation, using a leash pop if and when necessary. This approach provides them with the independence and also keeps the communication clear on how they should behave.

⚠️DOG ATTACK AT DAYCARE⚠️
Anything can happen when multiple dogs with different temperaments are put into a small space.
Watch the video closely and see how everything was seemingly normal until it wasn’t.
Typically you hear the story from the one who was attacked, but in this case, OUR client dog was the one who started the fight.
THE GOOD PART: the owner took responsibility and knew her dog needed intervention. ✅
Ella had a severe case of dog aggression — she showed predatory behaviour and made it extremely difficult for our owner to take her anywhere.
After introducing the e-collar, the communication between Ella and her owner became clear and for the first time ever, she was able to walk by new dogs without needing to go into fight mode. 🫣👏

January’s P.U.P (Pop-Up Pack) Walk consisted of 90% reactive dogs, but you wouldn’t have been able to tell if you saw it! 😮💨
When you come together with likeminded owners and calmly work through drills, it’s amazing what dogs are capable of when they feel like they’re part of the pack.
Did some dogs have their moments? Of course. But that’s why we have trainers on-site to give you pointers and guide you through it. No judgement here.
