GENERAL SECRETARY
A Veterinarian is the one who has heart of Lion, Eye of an Eagle and Hand like that of a Lady.
Yes it's the most nobel profession as its all about serving the creatures that are speechless and which totally relay on us for their welfare...
Friends when it comes to zoonotic diseases or rather the health disaster, we the veterinarians are the only line of defence between the cause and the suffering, hence we should feel obliged for being such an important part of our society....
We the 'vet to become' have got responsibility to maintain the respect and dignity of this nobel profession by serving the nature selflessly....
A very happy world veterinary day to the best doctors in the world as you cannot ask your patients that what's the matter.... You just got to know🙏🏻

VCP VETERINARY CLINICAL PRACTICE
World Veterinary Day has been an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of budding veterinarians to the animal health and society also.
As One Health advocates, veterinarians know that environmental, human and animal health are inextricably linked.
Any Negative changes to our environment will ultimately harm ourselves and the animals in our care.
Veterinary Clinical Complex equipped with modern diagnostic and therapeutic assets is located at Deesa as well as Sardarkrushinagar. The centre is caters the academic needs of undergraduate and post graduate veterinary students of clinical disciplines apart from clinical services provided to the farmers to treat ill animals form different pockets of North Gujarat dominantly and adjacent part of Rajasthan. ANIMAL NUTRITION
Theme of this year's World Veterinary Day celebrations includes Environmental protection, it includes judicial use of natural resources like feed and water, the field of animal Nutrition is working on this aspect by helping agronomist for better development of fodder varieties by analysis of their nutritive values in different livestock, search and validation of methods of utilization of unconventional feed stuffs and improving the nutrient utilization by livestock by adding novel feed additives and last but not the least by manipulation of feeding regime val help in mitigating many life style diseases like high blood pressure through designer healthy foods like designer milk, meat and eggs.
On this auspicious day in the dark clouds of corona I have complete faith that sound nutrition and good dietary regime will help us to boost the immune system and a triumph on the notorious deadly virus.

ANIMAL GENETICS AND BREEDING
The Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding is functioning
since inception of the College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry
at Sardarkrushinagar. The Department has a well-equipped Biometrical
and Computer Laboratory. Besides, teaching undergraduate and
postgraduate students, the department is also providing research
analytical assistance to postgraduate students working in different
departments of the college. The department initiated pioneer work on
Banni buffaloes ultimately leading to its recognition as a breed.
Furthermore, the department has completed ICAR sponsored Network
projects on Characterization of Kutchi camel and Mehsana Goat. In
recent past Department has undertaken the work of genetic evaluation of
sires of Mehasana buffaloes.
Wishing all the fellow Veterinarians a Very Happy World Veterinary Day - 2020. The theme of this year “Environmental protection for improving animal and human health”, truely emphasize the importance of Environment for fauna on this planet. Animal breeders have to play great role in such situation where we have to ponder on production of farm animals which live in tandem with planet ecosystem in addition to serving humankind.

VETERINARY PARASITOLOGY
The Department of Parasitology came into existence in the year
1981 in the main campus of SDAU with an objective to facilitate the
teaching and research activities to under graduate and post graduate
students in the subject of Veterinary Parasitology under able
leadership of then Professor & Head, Dr. D. K. Pethkar. It has fully
equipped, modern laboratories for helminthology, Entomology and
Protozoology, Museum for graduate and postgraduate students. We
provide consultancy, diagnostic services and training for the field
Veterinarians and farmers. The department has an outshining history which it has marked by doing exhaustive labour and par excellence
quality research. The faculty has received three national awards and
five national fellowships. The faculties had reported some important findings in the field of veterinary science, naming some are like, diagnosis of trypanosomosis in different species of animals by
parasitological and serological methods, important parasites of
horses, donkeys and pigeons. The major areas of research in the
department include the detection of acaricide resistance and its level
by bioassays, detection of anthelminthic resistance against
gastrointestinal nematodes, formulation of strategies to control ticks using botanicals and by biological method. Department has
completed two plan schemes research project under SDAU, four
departmental schemes and currently three departmental projects are
in hand.
Congratulations to all on the occasion of World Veterinary Day - 2020. I am very happy that this year theme is "Environmental by protection for improving animal and human health". Veterinarians should take the responsibility to safeguard our environment for both animal and human health and welfare. As a parasitologist and acarologist in particular, I will urge all fellow veterinarians to use chemical drugs judiciously for the betterment of environment as well as animal and human health.
