Will your dog go where you point? Practicing the Directed Retrieve today.
How do you walk your dog when it's too hot outside?
Torque scores a double -stack with his rings!
Can you walk around your dog?
Exercise can be fun for dogs - just another training game. This is Torque's Squats and Crouches.
Torque "Be right there. Just got to unstuck the celery."
Dumbbell Retrieve practice!
A few minutes is all it takes to work on whatever you want your dog to learn. And it's fun noodling around with your dog!
Dogs can understand signals/gestures just as well as words. There's no reason a deaf dog can't do anything a hearing dog can.
Torque's Bowling Game fell apart when he decided cronching the pins was more fun than playing it my way. Slowly, we're getting it back.
A variation on "Put your toys away."
Sometimes you have to modify and/or adapt your games to your dogs' abilities. You probably recognize the post in this game - it's the one made by a major baby products maker. And you probably also know those aren't the original rings. Those are fatter and the center hole just fits over the post. Keeping in mind that our dogs really can't see the post when they're playing this game, we found dive rings, common this time of year.
It's a core and hind leg workout, a training game, and some fun with your dog. Rolling along!
Practicing some Rally skills - Send Away Sit and Down Walk Around
The "Touch!" training game can help teach "Back!" Toss a treat between and slightly behind your dog's front legs. They'll move "Back!" to get it and give you the opportunity to name it and reward it.
The best training treat is the one your dog loves. Torque loves celery. What works best for your dog?
