Our dogs always surprise us. I would have thought that Simon could do Under without even thinking about it. It turns out that what I thought was a simple behavior involved several others, resulting in a more difficult trick. First off, Simon doesn't usually see me in this position. Is there a training game that's really hard for your dog? For Torque, for the longest time, it was going away from Hope and sitting near the cone. (This is a behavior that's used in Rally and in Obedience.) But Hope kept with it, practicing it every once in a while. It took weeks, but Torque finally got it! The moral: keep practicing.
