Strolled through the freshly renovated Hermann Park Commons this morning and… it’s gorgeous, y’all! Olive and Emma were well-behaved and had a great time meeting meeting ducks and squirrels and lots of excited kids! There are tons of walkways, so it’s easy to switch paths if we want a little space from other strolling pups. 10/10 recommend!

BakedBones’ Calming Bones have booked an extended stay at in Montrose AND at their new Heights location on 22nd St, and we couldn’t wait to let y’all know!

Y’all, the staff is so nice there and these facilities set the bar for doggy daycare. They’ve got huge play areas and lots of hands around to give pets and ensure a fun time. We are very proud to partner with and encourage y’all to check them out! ▼(´ᴥ`)▼

Out of all the November holidays, Giving Tuesday is my absolute favorite. We’re carrying on our tradition of visiting the shelters and dropping off care packages for the rescue pups. This year we made stops at and . We shipped a box of bones to over in Katy and we also stopped by to share some bones with the seniors’ pups in our own neighborhood. Whale, hello there! Water you doing this Saturday? If you aren’t tide up, then seas the day with Houston’s Dog Days of Summer Adoption Palooza! Hosted by our friends and , there will be adoptable pups from sixteen local rescue shelters! Can we get a shell yeah?!

Being a pet parent to an anxious or reactive dog isn’t always easy….but we know it’s always worth it. The key is to make (or bake) balance into your daily routine. Here are a few tips that have helped us and we’d love to hear what works best for your family!

🦴 Set realistic expectations.
Dogs are emotionally complex creatures with their own unique needs. Nobody will understand their personality better than you! Set realistic expectations for your dog AND for yourself. For example, if you have a busy week, you may not get to take your dog for long walks every day. Find other ways to exercise and engage with your pet. Hello fetch and “sniffaris”!

🦴 Create a routine.
Dogs thrive on routine. Having a set schedule for feeding, walking, and playing will help your dog feel more secure and relaxed. It will also make it easier for you to manage your time and dog parent responsibilities. BakedBones LOVES being part of that routine!

🦴Take care of yourself.
It's important to take care of yourself as well as your dog. Make sure to get enough sleep, eat healthy foods, connect with nature, and exercise regularly. When you're taking care of yourself, you'll be better able to take care of your dog. Your dog definitely wants that for you, too!

🦴 Ask for help.
We could all use a little extra help sometimes and there are so many resources available. If you're feeling overwhelmed, don't be afraid to ask for help from a friend, family member, or professional. Need to talk to someone? We’re always here to help.

🦴 Be patient.
It takes time to build a strong bond with your dog. Be patient and consistent with your training, and care, and your relationship with your furry friend will thank you.

New things keep popping up around here! We introduced an extra-strength bone a few months ago and they’ve sure been a big hit! These bones are perfect for bigger dogs AND smaller dogs that just need a little extra help. Which one is yours?!

👀 We love watching our plant-based packaging return to it's natural habitat. 🌱 Although every dog has a different routine, our treat bags are designed as a 30-day supply for most dogs. So, why should the packaging last any longer?
