Meet Adoptable Polly!
Polly is a female Standard Poodle puppy. She is about 8 months old. Polly came to CPR in early October as a breeder release. She was a puppy that didn’t sell.
Polly was extremely shy and timid, upon arrival at CPR. Rescued from a breeding situation, she faces unique opportunities, as she has never experienced life outside of that environment. During her time here we have watched her bloom and grow like a flower in the spring.
Polly’s new family must continue to help her become even more confident. She requires another confident dog in the household as it will provide her with the opportunity to learn to be a dog as well as embrace her new life as a cherished pet. She also loves playing with other dogs and is a great candidate for play dates. Polly seems to be more confident around dogs than she is people. She also LOVES playing with toys, so this can be another way to help her learn that people are fun to be around.
Since she was a breeder release, Polly needs a special home where her human will be her constant companion and teacher. Her ideal adopter will possess an abundance of patience, love, understanding, compassion, forgiveness, calmness, and empathy.

Meet Adoptable Duncan!
Duncan is an adult male Standard Poodle. He came to CPR in late October 2024 as an owner release; can’t properly care for him.
Duncan is a large standard poodle who’s a little bit different from the rest. He’s that friendly giant you can’t help but notice—kind of like the big kid in fifth grade who was taller than everyone else but maybe a bit behind in social skills. Duncan is sweet, but he does have some quirks that make him best suited for a specific kind of home.
Duncan tends to be overbearing and vocal when he’s around other dogs, especially in a group setting. He loves to bark and get into their space, which isn’t always appreciated by his canine companions. When he’s not around other dogs, though, Duncan is calm and affectionate. He thrives on one-on-one attention and will happily settle at your feet for pets and love.
Because of his behavior with other dogs, Duncan would do best in a home where he is the only pet. He’s not the type of dog to share his space with others, and he doesn’t do well in a multi-dog household. He needs a calm, quiet environment where he can relax and be the center of attention.
Duncan needs a spacious home—with a fenced yard where he can safely romp and play. An apartment or condo would be too small for a dog of his size and energy. Whether you're a single person or a couple, if you're home most of the day and able to give him the attention he craves, Duncan could be the perfect companion for you. Duncan spent the first 3 years of his life in a home with 4 children. He loves them. He can be mouthy.

Meet Adoptable JD!
JD is a male Standard Poodle (to the best of our knowledge). He came to CPR in early October 2024 as a Hurricane Helene survivor. He was found as a stray. JD is currently in a foster home in Greensboro, NC.
JD is an active, happy boy who loves to play. He would thrive in a home with an adopter who enjoys an active lifestyle—whether you’re a single person, a couple, or a family. While JD enjoys company, he can be a bit unsure around boisterous young children, so he’d likely do best with kids aged eight and older, or calmer, dog-savvy children. JD is the ideal companion for someone who enjoys outdoor adventures. Whether it’s playing in the backyard, going for a jog, or hiking in the mountains, JD will be there, ready to keep up. He’s full of energy and loves to be included in family activities.
JD requires a home with a canine companion, as having another dog around will help him learn how to be the best pet he can be. His foster describes JD as a playful goofball who brings pure joy to everyone around him. He loves playing hide-and-seek behind trees and shrubs, and he’s the master of zoomies—extremely fast and full of energy! JD also LOVES toys, especially squeaky ones. Throw one out in the yard and enjoy watching him chase and pounce.
JD is a funny, affectionate dog who loves to play and is very social with other dogs. He’s also non-reactive with cats, which makes him a good fit for a multi-pet household.
JD is a smart dog and is quick to pick up new things. While he doesn’t pull on the leash when walking, his adopter will need to continue working on leash training and basic commands like sit, stay, down, and come. His foster describes him as “wicked smart,” so he’ll likely pick up new skills quickly with the right training and guidance.
If you’re looking for an active, affectionate dog who will be your constant companion, JD is the perfect match. He’s looking for someone who can keep up with his energy and adventures, but who also has the patience to help him continue learning and growing.

Meet Adoptable Roxie!
Roxie is an adult female Standard Poodle. She came to CPR in mid-November as a breeder release because her breeder was downsizing.
Looking for a loyal, playful, and loving companion to brighten your days - say hello to Roxie, the delightful three-year-old standard poodle with a heart as big as her paws! Roxie is ready to find her forever home and share all the love she has to give.
Roxie would thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise and attention. Whether you’re a single person, a couple, or a family with older children (12+), Roxie will fit right in and quickly become your best friend. She’s a big girl with a big personality, and while she loves everyone she meets, she can be a bit much for younger children, especially due to her exuberant jumping and playful energy.
Roxie’s energy knows no bounds! She would also do well in a home with another dog to keep her company and play with, as she enjoys the company of other dogs and can learn a lot from them. Roxie is an exuberant and loving girl. She’s playful, affectionate, and always eager to interact with people and dogs alike. Her ideal playmates are larger, active dogs; she might be a bit too much for smaller dogs or cats, as her size and exuberance can be overwhelming at times.
Roxie is the embodiment of joy, with boundless energy and an affectionate nature that makes her a true gem. She’s a young dog at heart, still full of playful puppy enthusiasm, and she loves to run, jump, and give endless kisses. Roxie hasn’t met a stranger she didn’t want to be best friends with, and she’s always eager to greet new people with an enthusiastic leap and a loving cuddle. If you’re looking for an active companion who will love you unconditionally and never leave your side, Roxie might just be the perfect fit for you!

Meet Adoptable Lacy!
Lacy is a female Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix puppy. She came to CPR in early December as an owner release. Lacy was given to an older person as a companion, but that person has entered the hospital, so Lacy needs a new home.
Lacy is a young, happy, highly active dog that's had far too little activity and socialization as a young puppy. She was very well loved, but needed so much more activity than her owners could give her. Lacy is looking for a highly active lifestyle. This girl is no couch potato! She is a perfect hiking buddy and would love any adventure you're up for. Her small size is well suited for children over 8, as long as you're willing to invest in some training. All that Lacy knows is that humans are awesome, and she wants to be with you all the time.
Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically. What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! While our ideal home for puppies has another young dog in it, Lacy could be adopted to a home where she is the only dog as long as there is a solid plan for regular socialization a minimum of 4 times per week.

🥳🩵🥰TANNER'S SURGERY UPDATE & A FUTURE HAPPY TAIL🥰🩵🥳
All the cool kids have customized bandages, right?! Don't tell Tanner he's anything less than special!
Friends, on Wednesday sweet Tanner had a successful balloon procedure to open up the right side of his heart to a better blood flow. Anesthesia is always tricky with a dog whose heart doesn't act the ways other hearts to, but Tanner handled it like a champ!👊👊
Tanner will continue on a medication that is helping to support his heart. He may or may not be on this medication for life. Only time will tell how well the procedure worked.
Thanks to YOU, Tanner's heart is working as it should for the first time in his life. Thanks to YOU, he has the best chance at a long, happy life. And thanks to YOU, Tanner is ready for his forever home.
Spoiler alert - To meet Tanner is to fall in love. And that's exactly what happened with the team at UGA where his surgery happened. We hope to share Tanner's ultimate happy (home) tail next week 🙏

Meet Carolina Poodle Rescue’s adoptable Barry!
Barry is a 2 year old Standard Poodle! He is an athletic guy who loves to play games as much as he loves to snuggle up for pets and affection. He is looking for a home with a fenced yard he can run around in. A doggy pal would be perfect to romp around with and show him how to behave. Barry would be fine as your only dog, as long as he has plenty of playdates or doggy daycare visits. He loves the company of other dogs, especially larger ones who can keep up with his rough housing. Many different families could be a good fit for Barry, but kids should be 12+ to keep up with his bouncy play and big hugs. Mostly, Barry wants a home where he can adventure with his people. He is happy with a stroll around the block, a day at the beach, or a hike in the mountains. Great with new people, he tends to spread joy wherever he goes. While he is good in a leash, formal training with this and other basic obedience cues would benefit him. Barry is an enthusiastic and loyal companion just waiting for his family.

Meet Carolina Poodle Rescue’s adoptable Dottie!
Dottie is an 8 year old Beagle! Like all beagles, Dottie’s nose guides her around the world, so a securely fenced yard is important to keep her safe. She has spent most of her life as a hunting dog, and now she’s ready to settle in on the couch for snuggles with a special somebody. Dottie has a very gentle and loving nature, charming everyone she meets. This calm girl would thrive in many homes, as long as she can live a peaceful life (no kids under 12, please!). She gets along great with everybody she meets, including people, dogs, and even cats. While she is good on a leash, when she catches a scent, she will try to pull you along on her adventure. Some basic training with commands would be helpful, but Dottie would be happier just being spoiled with cuddles and treats.

🌈💙💔 IN LOVING MEMORY OF OLIVER 🌈💙💔
Handsome Oliver arrived in rescue in early 2016 - 2 years young and full of energy and light. He was quickly adopted and quickly returned. For biting in his new home. Behaviors we had never seen. Yet, the dog we came to know and love.
Over the last 8 years we watched Oliver mellow. His zoomies were less, but his commitment to barking at new people, giving caregivers a stubbornly good time, and chasing all the cats he could see remained. Underneath all his curmudgeonly attitude Oliver was a dog with a loving heart.
Though Oliver aged physically, his mind remained sharp. Sometimes, the body fails before the mind, and we have to make really difficult quality of life decisions. Oliver told us that he was tired. He stopped eating, was unable to stand, and was overall just ready for rest. And peaceful rest if what we honor him with.
Oliver spent his last day grubbing on his favorite hamburgers, taking a dip in his favorite lake, and getting ALL the gentle pats he would tolerate from his favorite caregivers. It was perfectly fitting for a perfectly imperfect life well lived.
Oliver man, we will forever remember your grumpy antics disguising a boy with so much love to share. Run free our handsome boy!!

Meet Carolina Poodle Rescue’s adoptable Sybil!
Sybil is a 4 year old Standard Poodle! She was found as a stray, and she’s being treated for hookworms right now. This active gal is looking for an active family with a fenced yard to keep her safe. Her energy is boundless and she would be happiest matched with an individual, couple, or family (kids 8+, please) who can keep up with her high-energy play and take her out and about. She LOVES to play. In fact, it was hard to find a picture of her without a toy in her mouth. Sybil is ready to play fetch or tug with a person or another dog, but if you’re busy, she’s ready to play all by herself. While she is full of joy, she does need a little training. Luckily, Sybil is eager to learn and will bond with you through the process. If you love spending time outside, Sybil might just be your perfect match! She is a friendly girl who thinks of every stranger as a potential new playmate.
