I am a personalised one to one dog walking service. I take the time to get to know your dog/s.

This week it was startlingly green everywhere and I could hear birds singing. Lots of sniffing to be had with all the wildlife on the go. This spaniel is a go go go type of guy. So for him to be slowing down sniffing and processing things is a huge shift for him in his head.
The two retrievers enjoy getting out and about seeing what's been occurring through the use of their nose!

Working with a puppy this morning I thought it might be useful to discuss seeing things from their perspective. Hopefully might prevent dogs vanishing over cliffs etc.
So we got down on the path to put ourself on their eyeline.
Their is a lake to the right of us but once down we couldn't see it. No doubt the puppy could smell it as its sense of smell is a dogs first sense but it would have no idea if there was a cliff in the way or not.
So when we say to our dogs " its only....." think about what they can see as well as smell cnd hear.
Great fun though!
Thanks Katrina Balfour for being a good sport!

Out in the woods we heard a cuckoo! My client was more interested in sniffing rather than listening! Lol we tracked it to a copse of trees where I saw my first ever cuckoo. Good day at the office!

A bit of dog posing today on the rocks.

Someone pinched their sand today so playing ball became a bit too gritty! Lol 😆 so they decided to paddle instead.

They do love when we hit the beach. They are so good together. X

What's life without a trip to the beach!! A tad chilly with the east wind but a gorgeous day. It has been great watching the cockapoo learn from Belle and the black dog. She has realised the ball only moves again if she drops it. So pleased with how she's coming on.
Someone spoke on a site recently (it was a dog unfortunately chasing a horse and the dog was on a long line) the comment was on that this was a fashion!
Most responsible dog walkers/trainers use long lines to actively work on recall with the security of being able to reinforce the come request. Some young dogs with that first taste of freedom will shoot off the minute you reach out to reattach the long line or lead. So keeping some control ie with the long line is safer.
You can build on it once you get that recall.

A lovely walk in the woods on Tuesday with these three. Practising recall and just generally having a nice walk.
