Lovely beach walk this morning. What was lovely further on (not on video) the dogs were so engaged playing that when a labrador came over the dunes none of them were interested. Using the older dogs has started to help Mabel understand that when she gets the ball the game of chase stops. Her recall back is getting better and she is allowing the Cocker to take the ball off her without running away. It's really interesting watching the body language between them all so so subtle.

Nice afternoon walk with the girls through the woods and looking at the change to Autumn.

Nothing nicer on a lovely afternoon than a sashay around the tracks in the sunshine!

A gorgeous day for a walk in the woods. All my doggy clients are watched carefully and earn the right to go off lead. Any issues and they are longlined.
These three get on well are walked in a stable group and body language watched on any interactions. I like them to check in with me regularly even a glance so I know I'm on their radar.

Walking Basset hounds is not easy! Especially hounds who can (believe it or not) run a lot faster than we can!
Recall is patchy depending on the high value treats you may have. So... they stay on the long lines. Are they upset? Nope! Are they happy? Yes look at that waddle!
Am I happy? Sure I would live to let them off to run free but I value the wildlife an other people's rights to enjoy a walk in peace without these two stealing a poor walkers lunch! Lol

These guys made me laugh with their model runway sashay into the distance.
Even if you need to stay on a lead life can still be good and fun!

Gorgeous morning at Tyningham links. Watching the Gannets diving just off shore is amazing to watch. I love watching the dogs enjoy their walks!

What a lovely if hot! Summer we have had. Most of my longer walks have been in woodland or woods and onto the beach. Keeping the dogs cool and ensuring no one overheats.
Ensuring everyone has the best time tailored to them is really important to me.

Last week we had a lovely walk to Tyningham beach. The puppy (well... not so much a puppy now) is allowed some free time with the two older dogs. I really feel this is important in order to learn how to socialise and behave in a big dog world. Using the long line I can also step in if I need to advocate for any if the dogs. It also allows me to work on recall with a way of getting her if she does ignore me.
She is having to learn to take turns with the ball and learning that when she hogs the ball the game stops.
As she is still young her running time is limited to protect her joints and after 5 mins she is back in hand and we work on deescalation and coming back down.

Meanwhile earlier on this wee girl is please to announce she had her first off lead walk with me in the woods with another two dogs. She was a total star ###

It's deeply humbling when people trust you with their dog, even more so when it's their puppy this week this wee girl had her first walk out with me. A little 15minute training walk. She done really well.

My good friend is a canine physio. She sees injuries relating to these things all the time. Guess what human physios probably see injuries in humans with these!! Rotator cuff, pulled back muscles etc.
Do the right thing for you and your dog and bin them!!
