And at last, Cardi has passed all of her health screenings!

I will be making an album dedicated to her soon, along with all of her results.

We will soon be registered with the AKC's Bred with H.E.A.R.T program! I don't have any immediate plans for a litter in the future but I am starting to look for possible matches. I will also be setting up a waiting list.

Cardi has also passed her Canine Good Citizen test! I do still have to send in the paperwork for the title though. We will be starting to participate in more Canine events this year as well so stay tuned!

We are so excited to announce that Cardi has passed her OFAs! I expected these results but I'm still relieved she passed with flying colors!

We still need to get her eyes done but so far Cardi is out here proving why she's the new face of DGM Aussies!

It's crazy how siblings resemble each other and their parents! All three of these dogs are out of our very own Vegas, but all three have different dads! All resemble each other and their mom, but are different enough to also look like their dads. You may not be able to see it, but I stare at past bred-by pups for fun. Genetics are crazy!

Formally introducing "DGMs I Don't Dance Now I Make Money Moves" aka Cardi!

Cardi is 8 months, from our December litter, the Vegas × Kenji cross, and I could not be more pleased with my keeper! Cardi will be replacing Vegas and will be our next main breeding female.

We will be starting herding lessons in two months. I also plan to do Barn Hunt, Fast Cat, and try our hand at Conformation. Big things are coming for Diamond GM Aussies!

Some more pictures of Lizzo! Not the best at stacking, she's a little awkward and unsure with her footing but still did pretty good for her first time!

Lizzo is 6 months and still looking for her own crew! She would make an excellent performance/sport prospect. She clocked in at 28 pounds at the vet yesterday, I imagine she'll mature to be 40-45 pounds and 19-20 inches. I do have plans to start her on livestock in a couple more months!

The weather was beautiful on Monday! Brought the two little babes out to play and explore the outside world, and boy did they have a blast! Little Lizzo here is cute as can be and she loves attention! Follows me around and is not afraid to tell me what she thinks at all. She's growing into the little chunky body she had before, I imagine she'll mature to a max of 40 pounds an 19 inches at the wither

She will be getting her first shot on Friday when she turns 6 weeks. AKC standard, her parents are Vegas and Kenji

I hope everyone is staying warm with the cold front that came through, today we finally had a nice day! Vegas had her litter December 17th, and they turned three weeks yesterday! Unfortunately, it was a small litter. Ultrasound said there would be five, but she only had three. We live and we learn. I think if I would have had more semen collected and shipped and we ai'd one more time we would have had a bigger litter. I'm so very thankful she had what I was wanting! One red tri female, one black tri female, and one red merle female.

Sadly, for the first time in my breeding career I had a puppy pass on me. It happens to everyone eventually. The red merle didn't seem right from the get go and I noticed Vegas, who has always been a wonderful mother, was not attending to this one as much. With that said, I only have one puppy from this long awaited litter to offer. I am keeping the red tri, but the black tri is up for grabs! She is a chunk, almost 4 pounds! Already more vocal than her sister, she wss howling with the adults last night, and she's going to have one blue eye! A cuddly cutie for sure!

So excited to announce that Vegas was confirmed pregnant on Tuesday! This litter has been in the works for a very long time, and after facing many obstacles all of our hardwork has paid off!

The dam is our very own Vegas Baby's Royal Flush, ane the sire is Mission Texas Ranger, owned by Saltair Australian Shepherds.

All colors possible and expected. Blue eyes expected. I expect an athletic litter with high drive and high energy levels. Definitely going to be a litter of performance prospects! I will also be keeping a puppy from this litter to use in my breeding program, as well as pursue herdibg trials and possibly conformation shows.

Stay tuned, and definitely keep this cross on your radar!

Obedience spotlight! Vegas may not have perfect obedience, but she has a pretty solid foundation!

We went to the park today for some training with small distractions, and worked on lay down, stay and that'll do. Vegas will kay down when I command her, but she always comes to me before she lays down, our goal today was for her to lay down in exact spot she was in when I gave the command, regardless of how near or far she was from me. We made a lot of progress with distance, and she'll follow the command about 75% of the time. We still have alot of work to do, I know if she were put on sheep she would ignore the lay down command 100% and we can't have that if we have our eyes set on trials in the future. Alot of work ahead but I'm so excited for the challenge and see how much we can accomplish!

I forgot to post these gems! In the process of moving, there's clutter EVERYWHERE! So not very pretty scenery but a funny picture for sure! Archer always finds some odd place to rest and that day was no different. And of course, Cochise the follower had to join when he saw the old man get some attention. Definitely made for some good laughs!

You have an Aussie.
You have a breed that's a little over 150 years old.
You have a breed that is the only herding stock dog originally bred in America, and is truly American, being a great big melting pot of different breeds to get what they wanted.
You have a breed that was bred to be able to herd one thousand sheep with a few buddies and only one human shepherd.
You have an Aussie.
You have a breed that was bred for sheep but able to think and adjust to herd ducks, geese, pig, chickens, and rabbits And each one herded differently .
You have a breed that guarded all those sheep, ducks, geese, and rabbits, so it made sure it kept it's eyes on you.
You have a breed that has guarding instincts as strong as it's herding instincts.
You have a breed that ranchers loved because if you needed something done, it could do it.
You have an Aussie.
You have a breed that was known as early as 1860 for it's intelligence, gentleness, loyalty and uncompromising courage and strength in the face of danger.
You have a breed that was bred to have no trouble continually moving with a comfortable lope all day. Every day.
You have a breed that doesn't care about the weather, and has worked everywhere from Antarctica to the hot dry plains of Texas.
You have an Aussie.
You have a breed that is known for incredible energy and intelligence and also being one of the most destructive dogs there is when those aren't taken care of.
You have a breed that you thought you knew what it took to raise one, and was still surprised. And still got another one.
You have a breed that has no problem running your home if they don't think you are doing it right.
You have a breed that made the list of ten most high maintenance dogs. And you weren't surprised.
You have a breed that you have actively talked people out of getting. And laugh when non aussie owners say they can take care of it for a little while.

You have an Aussie and wouldn't trade it for the world.

Happy Friday everyone! Stay Jazzy!

HEAT STROKE: In dogs
In the event your dog gets overheated outside.
1. Call vet and get to vet as soon as possible. In event you cannot get to vet.
2. Bring dog/pup inside but DO NOT place directly on air conditioner vent or in front of air conditioner. DO NOT immerse dog in Cold water as it will KILL your dog as will shock there system. If you have just a regular fan, use that to just get some air moving for the dog, but still do not place directly on dog. Try and find cool floor to place dog on ie: tile, linoleum, wood, just not carpet or rug.
3. Put Isopropyl Alcohol (Rubbing alcohol just like we use on cuts) in a spray bottle and spray pads of feet on dog. This cools dog by pulling heat out of the dog and evaporates hence adding to the cooling.
4. Use another spray bottle with room temp water and gently spray inside of dogs mouth usually they will lick some of it. Also is you have nutri-cal give the dog some and get it down them as the sugar will help.
5. Keep dog calm as possible. Once immense panting and normal pink color comes back to tongue offer some room temp water and let them rest. Would also continue to give more nutri-cal and electrolytes if have them.
6. Would still take to the vet as soon as could possibly get there just to have checked out. Even if they seem to be fine.

Remember a dog that is used to being inside and in air conditioning is WAY more susceptible to heat stroke than a dog that is acclimated to being outside. But in the temps several of us are having it can still happen and when it does it happens fast. Sometimes only takes 15 minutes in this type of heat/humidity for a dog to go down.

One little gal left her dog out big yard big shade trees just to run to the store and back only to have her dog down when she returned. Unfortunately she rushed him in house put him in bathtub and put cold water on him and he died within 10 minutes from the shock. She did not know any better and thought it would help him. :( This was a healthy 2 1/2 year old dog.

Don't let your dogs go out in the heat of the day. Even late afternoon/evenings as sometimes it is even hotter then. Do your exercising early of the morning when it is the coolest. (A lot of times way before the sun comes up). Example: this morning it is already 89 degrees with 73% humidity and it is not even 9:30am yet. So please pay attention to your pets and the weather.

Maggie Bullock wrote this, and she said share if you want. It could save a dog's life!
