The governor of Virginia issued this statement March 30th. 'Stay at Home' order for Virginia, taking effect from March 30 until June 10, unless it's later amended or rescinded. "This was a suggestion," Northam said. "Today, it's an order."

That means we will not have our monthly meeting April and May. The board had already voted by majority to cancel those two meetings and will decide later about future meetings depending on what is happening with the virus and ruling by the governor.

To keep our club members updated and have our continued education of birds and their care we will still have our newsletter, page and our website. Please feel free to send pictures, articles and questions to the Perch editor and page. This will be our way of staying in touch during this time.

I want to welcome our 76 new members that signed up at the World of Pet Expo in February. We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting we will be allowed to have.

I hope all of you stay well and safe during this time.
