Soon as you say “My dog would never”, here they come nevering like they never nevered before…
We’ve had plenty of questions about why I needed surgery this week, so mummy asked me to do a post explaining it to everyone.
It turns out I had a blockage in my small intestine that had to be surgically removed. Mummy was amazed by this as I’m not a scavenger and always spit out pieces of stick and toys when I’m destroying them. I never have raw hide or any controversial items and tend to eat relatively slowly and politely. Although I’m raw fed, I don’t have whole bones, as I like mummy to hold them for me while I eat and that makes her feel sick. Even so, the blockage turned out to be a piece of my evening dental chew, that I hadn’t chewed properly.
Mummy is obviously hugely thankful that it turned out to be something that could be removed safely and wasn’t something more sinister, like a tumour. But it really made her think about how easily we take our pet’s health for granted.
What is something your pet has done that you never imagined possible?
