Today we did a dissection of a cow heart, Ive never really seen a cow heart in person and they are BIG, here's my hand for comparison

VET 118 Animal Care I- canine and feline body language

VET 110 Small Animal Nursing I- cardiovascular system + the physical exam, patient restraint

VET 125 Pharmacology I- drug calcutions and conversions, principles and methods of drug administration

VET 160 Anatomy + Physiology- tissues and body cavities common integument, cow and sheep heart dissection

I was going to make a more in depth infographic of what I learned this week in class, but I'm really worn out to be honest. I might have to be making some not so fun changes in the future.

Week 13/16 🐾 finals are approaching and I find myself having less and less time to be active on this account, let alone a social life, so... I apologize for not posting as much; anyways here's what I did this week!

VET 104 Lab Animal Nursing- rabbit SQ saline injections and marginal ear venipuncture in lab

VET 118 Animal Care I- Fear Free module 5

VET 110 Small Animal Nursing I- skin scrapes, slanted agar bacteria growth, and ear cleaning

VET 125 Pharmacology I- antiparasistic drugs (why are there so many drugs)

VET 160 Anatomy + Physiology- basic horse anatomy and physiology

So far I have successfully drawn blood from dogs, cats, mice, and now bunnies! I definitely need to work on my restraint for the smaller guys but I have plenty of time to practice. For the most part my grades are doing okay (knock on wood) but I definitely need to start reviewing and retaining the stuff I've learned.

I ALSO need to give myself a break every now and again. I haven't been seeing my friends and spending time with my animals much and it's been making me sad. That's honestly the harsh reality of school for the time being. But, I'm going to hang in there I know this is what I want to be doing and I know I'm taking the right steps to get there. I also need to see my tutor 😬
