It is heartbreaking when a tragic loss occurs. When it happens so close after a recent one, all we can do is surround the family with love. Our hearts go out to Shelby's family, who suddenly had to say goodbye to this sweet Chocolate Lab...after they recently said farewell to their other Chocolate Lab. 💔🐾🌈
Shelby's mum is sharing this beautiful tribute and some favourite photos of Shelby:
"Another hard goodbye. With a broken heart, we suddenly had to let our Shelby cross over the rainbow bridge. Shelby played hard to get but she loved her family. She had her last swim in the lake this past weekend and Shelly Jelly will be with Rosie now."

October is Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Month, and we’re excited to shine a spotlight on Louise, our amazing RVT @yorkmobilevetservices
Since joining us in April, Louise has become a key part of our team, always going above and beyond. Whether she’s educating clients on pet care, reading microscope slides, or helping make our Fear Free visits a breeze with her animal training and behavior expertise, she does it all with dedication and passion.
When she’s not in scrubs (and covered in fur), Louise can be found in the kitchen, cooking up gourmet meals and baking sourdough bread. Her big dream? Spending a month in Thailand to learn authentic Thai cuisine. How cool is that?

Thanks @myiaahpc for organizing this year's AMAZING Virtual "24 in '24" Conference!!! We are super excited & grateful to be able to attend so many fantastic sessions focusing on senior pet care. We can participate from home AND continue to serve our clients and patients as usual. We also get to cuddle with our own fur-babies while learning more about providing the best comfort care for them.

Welcome Roxie & Ryder! These super social kittens are happily exploring their new furever home and can't wait to meet their older kitty brothers. We commend their mum & dad for patiently keeping the kittens in a separate room to allow a gradual and safe introduction to their senior cats. Roxie & Ryder did very well on their first health check! Ryder even thoroughly inspected our equipment bag during our home visit!

Hazel, a handsome 15 year old orange tabby kitty, was super relaxed when we took his blood pressure reading, while having his gorgeous fur brushed! 😻
Blood pressure monitoring is an important health check for your pets. Senior pets should have this done regularly. Home visits can help many pets feel calmer, making it easier for various diagnostics and vital sign detections. We even use a super quiet machine and place the cuff at base of the tail for cats to lessen the stress. The more relaxed the pet, the more accurate the reading.

This super cute tabby kitten is Mia! She did amazingly well for her first kitten exam and allowed us to apply some parasite prevention. She stayed in her comfortable basket, occasionally snoozing during our visit.
We hope Mia will continue to behave for mum when it's time for the deworming tablets. Deworming and parasite prevention are important to protect both the pet and the family. Various parasites can be transmitted from one pet to another pet and to humans too. This is a good reason to keep all pets, even indoor pets, up-to-date with parasite protection. We can discuss which type is best for your specific pet during the initial and annual consultations.
