!!! OMG WE HAVE GOT SUCH EXCITING NEWS AT JACOB’S DEN !!! We are so very lucky to have two miniature horses- Beau and Romeo - come to join us!!! We are hoping Beau will be out and about soon- visiting Special Schools, Children’s Homes and many more places, bringing something special to many young people. He has done many ‘inside’ jobs 🤣 before, starring on TV with Alexander Armstrong, where he was a bell boy for a day and also visiting hospices around the Grantham area. He has special ‘Build a Bear’ boots that help prevent him slipping on the floor. Romeo has also joined us and lives up to his name as he has won many hearts (and rosettes) in the showing ring. We are hoping that some of our young visitors might ‘show’ him again in the future- how amazing that would be. Watch this space to follow the progress of these super special boys. We expect lots of you will be meeting them soon!!! 😊

!!!!IT’S HAF TIME AGAIN!!!! We are all very excited at Jacob’s Den- the Easter HAF website goes live TODAY-Tuesday 18th March . All information will be on the HAF website. Our spaces are SEND only, so please make sure your child qualifies before booking as we may not be able to complete your booking. We will be having two days for ALL children SEND and non/SEND during the holidays on top of our HAF days and usual JD days- dates to be announced soon but unfortunately we cannot accept HAF vouchers for those days. We have been heavily oversubscribed in previous holidays and we are very aware that parents/carers do not always have access to the vouchers at the same time so, to make it as fair as we can, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to access all the sessions you book. This is so we can include as many children and young people as possible who are booked onto the waiting list. Hope to see you soon!!! 😊

Hair, hair everywhere!!! Most of the ponies have started shedding their coats, especially the minis- Colours and Woody. We gathered it all up and put it in the trees and bushes for the birds to collect for nest building. Their chicks will be warm and cosy!!!

A super sunny day again saw lots of fun and learning. After all the jobs were done our visitors were taught that horses can move backwards and sideways (laterally) as well as forwards. Time at the end for some jumping fun too 😊

So many thanks to Alt-Ed Lincs for their help again today at Jacob’s Den. They were amazing with the horses who so enjoy their Thursdays with our visitors 😊

So lovely to see the sunshine this weekend and it was warm enough to bring the ladybirds out. Lots of planning for our woodland obstacle course before we took the horses round it. We think they approved! We got back to find Remy soaking up the sunshine, napping in his paddock😊

A busy day today, and it was lovely to see lots of new faces. When all the jobs were finished we planned then built an obstacle course in the woods. We had to test it first before we took the horses round of course! Last day of the holiday but spaces are available for our Saturday morning group. A busy time last weekend. All the usual jobs plus we were taking part in the RSPB’s Birdwatch 2025. Always time for a walk in the woods and we added some obstacles too! 😊

A very happy Remy today, back close to his friends. A month of stable rest was a long time for Rem but with bandages, boot and his own paddock, Remy can continue his recovery where he will be happiest ❤️😊

🌟 Winter Fun at Alt-Ed Lincs! 🌟
Today, our SEN learners experienced pure excitement as they played on the ice in a stunning winter wonderland. ❄️ Surrounded by idyllic scenery, they participated in a lively horse therapy session. 🐴✨ The crisp air added an extra layer of magic to the day.

Day 1 of HAF and a chilly one! We found the best place to warm cold hands was burying them in the ponies’ thick warm Winter coat and mane 😊
