Hi everyone,

Giving an update on schedule for the next couple of months, I will be on vacation June 20th- the 24th so I will be unavailable for boarding,training, and doggie daycare during this time.
Also if you have dates that you need for boarding or daycare if you could get them in as soon as possible I'd appreciate it due my schedule filling up fast during the spring amd summer months.

We had 6 boarding this weekend.
We had Jet and Mia, Olive, Roscoe, Twix, and Mollie boarding. We also have our 3 Bella, Rhea, and Prim ( not pictured).

Hi Everyone,

We wanted to reach out and give a little update.
For the month of February we are booked for board and trains. March we have a couple openings and are scheduling for April and a portion of May.

We have openings for in-home training and daycamp, we also have daycare openings all days besides Wednesdays.

We do have openings for February, March, and April for boarding. We will be closed the 26th-29th of May due to a family trip. We will reopen on the 30th.

Please contact us for your training, daycare, or boarding needs.

I want to thank all of our clients for a great 2022 year and look forward to see how 2023 goes.

AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport is having their low cost spay/neuter clinic for their Community Cats & Feral Cats on Wednesday, June 8th 2022.
Please be sure to call and make an appointment! 515-834-2187. Their address is: 4002 Ash Street, De Soto, IA 50069.
Drop off time is between 7:15am-7:45am and Pick-Up time is between 2pm-5pm. If you need to pick up later than the listed pick up time, there will be an extra charge.
All Kittens must be at least 12 weeks old and weigh at least 3 lbs. All feral/outdoor cats and kittens will be ear notched. No exceptions!
Full payment is DUE upon drop off.
All spays and neuters will include a Rabies vaccine and Feline Distemper vaccine. Other vaccines, and preventatives are available at an extra cost.

Hi Everyone,

We have decided to offer a new class. We are now offering a puppy class. We will work on sit, down, loose leash walking and proper socialization of your puppy. This class will be 4 weeks long. Time, date and location to be determined once I have 4 people signed up for the class. The class is a total of $200 where half is paid at sign up and remaining paid before the beginning of the last class. There will be a max of 6 spots open per 4 week class. This is a savings of $100. I've seen a lot of this and have heard this from many clients.

Dogs can be dog selective. They can not like hyper bitey puppies, they could not like unaltered males or females.

Most dogs are dog selective only very few dogs are actually dog aggressive or dog social.

It's ok for your dog not to like every dog they meet.

Training your dog doesn’t happen overnight.

I know, I know…

There are trainers out there promising quick fixes…

And there are all sorts of gimmicks that promise to solve your problems fast.

But the truth is…

To train your dog in any way that is even remotely fair to them, you have to do a few things…

One…

Learn how to do it. Learn how to handle your leash. How to read your dog. How to communicate with your dog, how to apply your lessons and how to pivot when things go South…

Two…

Teach your dog. Practice until the training becomes second nature and then prepare your training for the real world. Then go to new places, and practice some more.

Three…

Fail. Fix. And try again. (Because it won’t always be pretty…but unless you let setbacks stop you, you’re learning, growing and getting better).

Truth is…

I won’t EVER give you fast fixes. (I mean, my training doesn’t take an eternity, and most of my games are pretty quick, but they won’t instantly solve all of your problems - you have to practice!)

I want you to learn how to understand your dog…

How to speak their language…

To communicate with them…

Not rely on fancy collars , gimmicks or devices, to do the talking for you.

And I want you to learn how to keep your dog fulfilled…

How to give them what they need…

To ensure they can be comfortable and confident in your world.

I’m not going to solve your problems overnight.

I will not do that to you, and I will not do that to your dog.

But I will give you a rock solid relationship with your dog built on joy, on mutual respect, and on understanding.

But just like becoming a professional athlete…

Or an actor on Broadway…

Just like training a horse, or learning to ride (right)…

Just like any relationship that’s worth anything…

It takes work.

It takes sacrifice.

And it won’t happen overnight.

My name is Brittany Godwin. My family and I currently reside in West Des Moines, IA. I have always felt a connection with animals from an early age. I started by self teaching how to train dogs when I was in High School. After college, I felt that I needed to come back to my roots and became a Certified Canine Trainer and Behavioral Specialist through ABI. I spend my time Volunteering at a local rescue and am currently a foster home for dogs needing rehabilitation. I want to share my passion and knowledge with others as every animal deserves a chance to be the best they can with time, patience, and training.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to say that I am now booking classes! I currently offer 2 classes; private and obedience. Private Classes are for dogs who have behavioral issues. These could include jumping up, separation anxiety, barking, chewing, digging, socialization issues with other animals or people, biting and any other behavioral issues that could arise. These classes a conducted in your home and are hands on for the entire household. Obedience Classes are for puppies or new dogs to the home who are in need of obedience training. These include basic commands like “sit” and “stay” for your dog to learn that will help them be on their best behavior! These classes are conducted in your home and are hands on for the entire household. Message me for pricing and booking/availability.
