Grogu left today for his new home. He hasn’t been in a straight load and never a ramp but he walked on to the new trailer like he has dne it a 1,000 time. So proud of him but I am feeling sad today. I will miss him!
Grogu has been working hard on his long lining and is working on figuring out ground driving 🤗❤️
Grogu saw his first bike yesterday. He handled it well 🤗 He will see bikes nearly every single day from now till next winter as the kiddos bike, shooter and hover board constantly ❤️
Repetition, repetition, repetition... the ground is so cruddy right now. I have water, ice and slippery snow to work in. So we work on what we can work on and wait for spring ☀️ 🌸
Grogu gets his feet trimmed next week, first time ever 🤗 He is going to do great!
So very windy today! I decided against one on one work this morning as I despise the cold wind howling across the field and blowing snow all about ❄️ 💨 I decided to take Star and Grogu out at the same time today for a long snowy walk and things went well. Grogu enjoys ponying and today saw his first car. Cars coming towards him are ok, cars coming from behind him give him quite the fright. He uses Star as a security blanket and she doesn’t mind. He handled his trip out well 🤗 One car passing by at a time, he will be a pro by summer 🙂
Grogu has spent the last few days getting used to the the saddle pad going on and off, on and off. Ropes tighten and loosening on his tummy. And today for the first time he walked and trotted off with a tightened bareback pad like it wasn’t there ❤️ Great job Bud!
Plastic bags ✅ Tarps ✅ Blankets ✅ Saddle pad ✅ Halter off ✅ lounging ✅ yielding to pressure ✅ Ropes ✅ Picking up feet and standing patiently ✅ Being left alone ✅ Grogu has been enjoying daily walks up and down the roads seeing cars go by, mailboxes, strange dogs, tractors ect. He is soaking up life and becoming so quiet ❤️ he has been here just over two weeks. He had 2 different types of worms come out and is starting to gain weight. Although he still has a rough case of rain rot. His incision from gelding is still actively bleeding/draining but looks good with no infection. One day at a time 🤗
This guy has an appointment with a vet next Thursday and after today I’m feeling pretty confident I’ll be able to touch him all over by the time she arrives. Today was the first day I was able to touch him head to tail with no finching or kicking 🤗 His underbelly and legs are another story all together, 1 day, 1 lesson at a time 👍 If all goes as planned I’ll be able to touch those by Thursday too ❤️
