A couple of weeks ago we had Floris here who did his internship here at the farm. It was very fun and we got very impressed about his work. Read his own words about the stay and have a look at his 3D modells that he did.

For my master thesis in Computer Science at the University of Bath I am investigating the ability to detect Tilapia Lake Virus and Streptococcosis in Nile Tilapia through the use of AI. For this project I was lucky enough with the support of Pauline and Cyril to spend a week collecting data at Gårdsfisk. To best train AI for this I needed to collect data of both healthy and sick fish in the same environment. As Gårdsfisk does not have sick fish, I created them using 3D modelling, printing and painting. Pauline supervised my stay and is both highly knowledgable and passionate about her field. I was given a great mixture of freedom to conduct my research and support if I had any questions or requests. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the farm and owe a big debt of gratitude to the entire company.

It has been quite busy lately at the farm.
Within two weeks we´ve exported fish to six different countries. From our farm here in southern Sweden out to Europe and across the ocean to some Caribbean islands and to Africa.🌎
The fish arrived safely to their new homes and we are now looking forward for a new exciting year filled with lots of fun projects and work.

Now we have done our last shipment of the year.🐟
It is time to take a break and relax, fish will keep going their reproduction and our technician will take care of the offsprings during the next three weeks.
There is already a big list of customers waiting for us beginning of January, some new and exciting countries where we are looking forward to see our fish!

We are harvesting our spawning tanks every 10 days to ensure a traceability of our animals. Each nest is carefully handle and fed by our team to propose a strong and healthy fish to our customers and for our own farm needs.

One month ago we made our first shipment of catfish. We are so happy to finally distribute both catfish and tilapia around the globe!🌏

We've been travelling recently. From Netherlands to Feroe Islands we were visit some farmers, universities, suppliers and assist to a training for the European project RASOPTA.

The RASOPTA project will develop new technologies for the improvement of the water quality by reducing nutrients and controlling the abundance of harmful bacteria and parasites. The project will also design sensory and instrumental methods to determine ideal rearing conditions for optimum taste. It will also develop a DNA-based chip to warn of emerging problems in operating RAS.
