Here is a cat collar tip:

Some cat owners do not put cat collars on their pets because their cats protest greatly. In the photos, you see our new addition, Meana, sporting a collarfor the very first time in her life. Given that she was either dumped on our property or feral, Meana is handling it quite well. Even so, I let her keep the collar on for just 10 minutes. Later this evening she’ll be wearing the collar for perhaps 20 minutes. Increasing the time wearing the collar over several days, may help your cat adjust to wearing a collar.

Our cats are indoor/outdoor pets, so it is crucial that they wear collars with ID. Well, what about strictly indoor cats? I would recommend the same for them, just in case they manage to slip out.
