On behalf of the Barczyk family and our entire team at The Reptarium, it is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Brian Barczyk.

More than the guiding light of our organization, Brian's fervent passion for reptiles and wildlife, along with his steadfast dedication to education, has touched innumerable hearts and minds globally.

Our deepest sympathies are with Brian's family, his friends, and all those whose lives he has touched. We've lost an exceptional individual – a visionary, mentor, and friend. For those of us who had the privilege of working alongside him, Brian's absence leaves an immeasurable void.
As we navigate this difficult time, we find comfort in the memories and the lasting light of Brian's work. He will be deeply missed but indeed, never forgotten.

The Barczyk family invites you to join us for a Public Memorial Walk-through to honor Brian’s memory. The event will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Heritage Church, located at 44625 Schoenherr Rd. Sterling Heights, MI 48313 from 1-3pm.

Quick update on the Southern Ringneck Snake (Diadophis punctatus) hatchlings, they're doing incredibly well and have grown tremendously. They've at least doubled in weight and are now approximately 6 weeks old.

First CBBUK Diadophis punctatus in quite some time I believe.

*Update*

We're pleased report that both hatchlings are doing well and are coming up to a month old.
Both have been seen taking food (Predominantly finely chopped raw fresh fish such as sprats and herring.) which is always a good sign.

Our 2nd clutch of Southern Ringneck snakes (Diadophis punctatus) has hatched. Lets hope we have better luck this time round!🤞

There will be TWO rooms full of exhibitors with a range of goods and livestock. The second hall can be accessed from the main hall and will be signposted.

If you cannot attend for any reason due to date/venue change, please contact Richard Brook by 7th August 2023. If you haven’t got in touch by then, you will be assumed to still wanting your tables. Any tables that become available will be announced on the 8th August 2023 via social media and available until 15th August 2023 unless all sold out. You must already be a member of the IHS as you will need your membership number on the form, there will not be enough time to get a membership number in time.

There are NO pre-paid tickets for the shows.
Everyone pays on the door.

Non Members £10.00
FBH Club/Society Affiliates £10.00

All children under 16 are free to enter but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please ensure you have your membership card in order to enter via the member line.

Doors open at 10.15am for IHS & FBH affiliated clubs or society members.
Non-members can gain entry from 10.45am.
Shows start to wind down at 3.30pm.

✨ Additional Information ✨

There will be catering facilities inside with seating.

There are no cash facility’s at the new venue to draw money from.

We would like to remind all attendees that the purchase of LIVESTOCK from exhibitors must be in cash. Dry goods and gifts can be purchased by card IF the exhibitor has the facility.

The venue is wheelchair friendly with ramps to all areas.

The exchange room can be used for deals which have happened prior to the show, however this is not a substitute for a table. This is down the corridor and will be signposted as you enter.

We cannot go into details due to a confidentiality agreement. The actions by the animal activists were not involved in the decision not to hold the September event at the Milton Keynes neither was it a fault of the society, the venue or the local council.

Anyone that had booked the DoubleTree Hilton hotel must contact them directly to receive a full refund.

It's such a shame that the IHS show won't go ahead at the Milton Keynes venue in September, at this point in time we can only speculate at to the decision why while we await on an update from International Herpetological Society in due course. Its key that we support organisations like the IHS, Responsible Reptile Keeping and others as without them, the hobby wouldn't exist as it does today. I encourage you not to take your frustration out at the IHS as without them, these type of events at the scale they are simply wouldn't be possible.

The International Herpetological Society is disappointed to announce that after discussions with the Marshall Arena this week, it has been decided that the Breeders Meeting, scheduled to be held on the 3rd of September will not go ahead. Further details and the new venue will be announced in due course, once things have been finalised.

Although we're based in the United Kingdom, I have many friends and acquaintances from within the hobby in the USA and it is vitally important to me that I support the hobby from over here in any way possible hence why I've become a member, the scenes appearing from Florida in the recent days with the mass inhumane killing of Reticulated Pythons, Burmese Pythons and the 'accidental' killing of a pet Boa Constrictor by is an abhorrent act and they need be brought to justice.
