I would like you to meet Bobbi. 💖
Bobbi is a behind-the-scenes foster kitten. She came to us in August at appx. 5weeks old. She is now approximately 15/16 week old. She has a condition called Hydrocephalus. Bobbi is very sweet and so far is progressing slowly. She may live into her single-digit years .. or she may not make it to her first birthday. For right now she is being loved and has a safe environment. Bobby will remain in foster care where we can watch her closely for any signs of decline. I think I speak for all fosters when I say although I find Fostering kittens so rewarding, ..taking care of these little felines and making sure they are thriving and becoming social. Being patient with them and finding a wonderful forever home for these babies literally brings me so much joy. But behind-the-scenes there are times when it can be mentally debilitating. When I foster a kitten, that came to me in rough shape, and I realize this baby may not make it. Maybe it’s a kitten who has eye issues or a chronic issue or a little deformity and there’s a good chance no one is going to adopt them even though they are so sweet and gentle. Sometimes its a kitten like Bobbi that has a condition that will not allow that precious baby to live a normal life expectancy. It really takes a toll on you.

A friendly time change reminder…
As we “Fall back”, keep in mind wildlife can’t set alarms on their phones like we do. They follow the natural light cycle. So, when we reset our clocks this weekend morning, we might also be lining up our schedules with some wild neighbors that we don’t usually see… including foxes, bobcats and raccoons. If you have an unexpected wildlife sighting after the time change, don’t be alarmed. After a few weeks, they will adjust to people being more active at dawn and will alter their activity to avoid humans.
