Online registration is now closed, but on-site registration will open tomorrow morning at 7am at the Oakley Lindsay Center, followed by breakfast and trade show before our opening session starts at 8am.

2024 Conference Agenda: During our morning Spanish breakout session, attendees will hear from a variety of experts in the world of Biosecurity. Biosecurity continues to be a crucial piece of the puzzle for Swine Health.

Humberto Villalpando, DVM, is a veterinarian with more than 10 years of experience in swine production systems in Mexico. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Guadalajara. In his current role, Humberto is the Manager of Veterinary Services for PROAN (Animal Protein SA de CV) the 5th largest swine producing company in Mexico. He is leading a team of 5 veterinarians and is responsible for the health of 66,000 sows. Humberto is enrolled in a masters program at the Veterinarian Faculty of the Mexico National University of Mexico (UNAM) focusing on swine production.

2024 Conference Agenda: One of our morning breakout sessions will focus on Grit in the Workforce.

Twyla Stevens, Chief Human Resources Officer for Professional Swine Management, always brings great HR content to our conference, and this year will be no exception! Gritty Leadership – Is it the secret sauce for success? Twyla will talk on what it is, why it matters, and habits to develop the “Grit” muscle in the workplace.

Brent Reilly, Counsel for Fragomen, will then speak on Talent Retention - How Immigration Helps Meet Workforce Development Needs in the Swine Industry. Brent works with companies in the agricultural sector, helping clients develop, implement, and manage immigration programs that facilitate the hiring and retention of the best talent. Brent's unique background as in-house counsel has given him insight into the particular challenges that companies face, including pressures to fill essential positions.

We are very excited to start sharing the 2024 Conference Agenda and speakers!

One of our afternoon breakout sessions will feature 'The Latest in Research Findings'. This session will cover a wide range of topics, showcasing the breadth of research conducted at Carthage.

We have also invited collaborators to speak about our joint research projects. Our partnerships with industry partners allow us to conduct cutting-edge trials that address important questions for producers.

The research we will present is "hot off the press," offering new and unique insights into the biology and economics of pig production. We are committed to looking beyond the obvious, connecting more dots, and ensuring that our understanding of pig production is continually advancing and driven by sound science.
