Does you dog turn up their nose at their food? Are they unimpressed and bored at meal times? I can’t really blame them! Imagine being handed the same bowl of food everyday for the rest of your life🤔…I’d get sick of it as well! And this is exactly why I like to incorporate mental enrichment at meal times. Not only will this make your puppy’s food appear more exciting, but giving them ways to use their brain actually releases feel good endorphins that will enable them to relax easier afterwards. So next time you go to feed your puppy, try: 1️⃣ Scatter feeding: Scatter their food on tiles or grass depending on their level of food motivation. This small change at meal time activates your dog’s natural foraging instincts and encourages them to use their nose to find each biscuit. Think of it like an Easter egg hunt for children (you can even mix a few treats in their meal to really make them excited)😋 2️⃣ @kongcompany is a FANTASTIC dog toy brand that incorporates enrichment into so many of their designs. The options are endless and you can choose different toys that will suit the level of difficulty your dog is at. In this video, Chelsea started with the original puppy Kong and then graduated to the Kong Gyro. Next, we’re going to try a toy that has a level 3 difficulty rating 🙊 3️⃣ Busy Buddy is another really great enrichment toy brand. Their designs are easily identifiable by their purple colour and they can be found in your local pet shop in store or online 💜 So throw out the dog bowl and make some small changes to switch up your puppy’s daily routine 😍
