Paddock in the Pines The only woodland paddock in Lincolnshire! 1.7 acres of enclosed woodland with 6ft fencing! Welcome to Paddock in the Pines!
(92)

The only, fully woodland, dog paddock in Lincolnshire! Paddock in the Pines is run by Alex at Scouting for Dogs, situated in the beautiful and peaceful vicinity that is, Broughton woods, North Lincolnshire! Paddock in the Pines is a 1.7 acre, fully enclosed dog paddock with 6ft fencing - giving you peace of mind and security when letting your dog’s run free! Our woodland paddock is the perfect loc

ation for good sniffs and mental stimulation with lots of activities to keep your dog’s brain busy! Being surrounded by woodland, we have the added bonus of it being much cooler than an open field but please be aware that you must still take extra, and sensible precautions in the summer heat. Bookings and payments are to be made online. Once your booking has been made, you will receive confirmation, directions, and a copy of our t’s & c’s. Please always bring your own water and bowls for your dogs to ensure there is always fresh water available as there is no access to running water in the paddock. Water containers will be provided and although these will be checked regularly, please make Scouting for Dogs aware if they are running low. Please note – by making payment, you are agreeing to having read and understood & that you will comply to our terms and conditions.

We've recently made a few changes to the paddock in regards to our gates to give you a shorter and hopefully, less muddier walk to the paddock!

Please continue to park in the lay-by opposite our main woodland gate and walk up to the paddock (approximately a 2-3 minute walk).

JL Joinery came yesterday to install a new gate for us which looks fantastic! This is situated at the opposite end of our big deer gate (where you'd normally let yourself in), cutting off that extra walk past the paddock.

The deer gate will now only be used for paddock maintainance and will no longer be in use to the public. Also, the track that runs next to the paddock is now out of bounds, so please don't walk any further than you need to ⛔️

Same rules apply with our new gate and padlocking it after yourselves please 🙏

Thank you to everyone's continued to support and keep sending me all your photos and videos! I love to see your dogs having the best time at Paddock in the Pines 😍💛

Huge thank you again to JL Joinery for your help and efficiency! We highly recommend!

I've been thinking about purchasing some new equipment for the paddock ready for summer, but things like this really make me think twice about spending even more money for others to enjoy.

I specifically ask that humans not use any of the equipment already in the paddock because it's not made to hold a human!

So if the person who thought they'd put their own weight on the seesaw and put their foot straight through it (you can see its shoe shaped and not a dog) would like to own up and replace it, that'd be very much appreciated! 🙏

💛 DISCOUNTED PADDOCK SESSIONS FOR XL BULLIES 💛

PLEASE SHARE

So, after weeks of contacting my insurance company and receiving conflicting information, I have finally gotten confirmation that XL's can run freely and safely, off-lead and muzzle free inside Paddock in the Pines! 🤗

However, this does come with some rules (please be aware that these are not my rules, and this is not something I ever wanted, nor supported).

All dogs should be on-lead on your walk up to the paddock however, XL's will also need to be muzzled until safely inside.

The lead and muzzle may be removed once you're inside the paddock, but you must padlock yourself in during your visit.

Unfortunately, you may not attend the paddock with any other friends or family dogs 😔 no group sessions are allowed, we are not insured for this. You may bring dogs with you that live in the same household however, it must be one handler to one XL. This means if you have two XL's, you need two handlers. If you have one XL and two other breed dogs in your home, you still need 2 handlers (I hope that makes sense)?

Prior to booking, you must message Paddock in the Pines with your exemption certificate and a copy of your third-party liability insurance. Once I have seen this, I will provide you with a discount code to use for life.

Again, please do not think these are my rules. I think the whole thing is barbaric and ridiculous. However, I am relieved to be able to provide you with a safe space where your gorgeous Bullies can run muzzle free 💛

I'm so sorry to everyone who is booked in today, but I'm having to cancel todays paddock sessions due to fallen trees 😭

I'm trying to get it sorted ASAP but it is likely it won't be sorted today.

If anyone can help repair the damage to the fencing and gate, please let me know 🙏

Sangreat Kennels at Scawby Brook

https://www.facebook.com/100057702337931/posts/791152626151475/?sfnsn=scwspmo

We are aware of an XL Bully being posted around the selling pages who we have in our care. This girl came to us a stray dog on Friday. She is microchipped but to a breeder who has no record of where she went to. She is 13 months old and has possibly had a litter herself. We know people’s opinions of a stray dog kennels is rarely positive but within an hour of her getting here, thanks to our council, she was provided with urgent veterinary care. She has been placed on antibiotics to help clear up her nasty wounds. She has a warm kennel, a comfortable bed, hearty meals and most of all love.
For several years now we have not rehomed direct to the public. This is because the dogs we get in are strays - we know nothing about them and cannot fully test them or have the capacity to home check. Insurance policies have become much more stringent over the years. We use other well established rescue kennels where dogs and homes are thoroughly vetted.
Unfortunately because of her breed our plea to find a suitable rescue space so far is failing.
Comments such as ‘I’ll have it’ on these posts are disheartening 😞
From 31st December it will become illegal for places like ourselves to rehome or transfer these dogs.
Anyone willing to take on one of these dogs before that time must be willing to:
Purchase 3rd party public liability cover
Pay for neutering
Ensure the dog is microchipped and details are up to date
Pay the government a £92.40 fee
Apply for a certificate of exemption to keep the dog
Begin muzzle training and ensure the dog is comfortable to be muzzled when in a public place
Check with the home owner / tenant that there is permission to keep a banned breed in your home
Check whether you are able to leave the dog with anyone should you wish to go away
From 31st December it will be a criminal offence to breed XL bullies, to abandon them or allow them to stray.
It really isn’t as simple as ‘I’ll have it’ 😞

If anyone is aware of a reputable rescue organisation that will take on this girl and rehome her responsibly then please share with them. The only home we would consider directly is someone fully committed to all of the above with no other pets or children in the home. We are not willing to rehome to someone unsuitable for things not to work out and her be euthanised anyway.

Please spare a thought for our staff who have to look after these dogs knowing their fate because times in rescue have suddenly got a whole lot rougher. This isn’t the only girl in this position, there are hundreds across the country and it’s not going to be physically possible to save them all. Keeping a dog kennelled for the rest of its life is not an option. This is the first one through the doors since the ban announcement who isn’t looking like she will be claimed.

We have already had a volume of calls checking up on this girl and our priority is looking after the dogs so if you require further information please Facebook message or email and we will get back to you at our earliest convenience.

The lovely Hannah, from Pooch-tastick Mobile Dog Grooming , brought her gang to the paddock this afternoon!

How adorable are these guys? 😍

Hannah has recently set up her own mobile, dog grooming business, taking away the stress of travelling to and from the groomers and potentially bumping into other dogs, which I know many of us dread.

With years of experience working with dogs, Hannah takes the kindest approach to ensure your dogs are happy and content during their grooms!

Go and check out her page! 💛

Whoever took it upon themselves to move the tractor tyres this weekend and left them dumped in front of the gate, I hate you 😑😅

I obviously needed a muddy workout first thing this morning!

Brilliant start to a very long and wet day, 🤦🏼‍♀️

I don't think I've seen a single dog turn their nose up at these! 🤤🎂

Welcome to Rolling with Roo! 🐾

Although our little RwR venture will always remain a hobby, it's getting busier and busier keeping up with all of the doggos in our lives and their insatiable need for treats! So I thought it was about time we had a separate page to keep up to date with all things going on in the Rolling with Roo kitchen and to contact directly rather than getting lost in my ever ignored personal inbox 🙊

Rolling with Roo was created as a way for me to keep Reggie Roo's memory alive. Baking his birthday and gotcha day cakes and his treats was our favourite thing to do together and getting to create that joy for other doggos is quite therapeutic!

Plus it's no secret that I'm a feeder 😆 my love language will always be food so seeing doggos enjoy the bakes we create for them fills me with all the happy!

And finally I can't do a welcome post without thanking Paddock in the Pines for getting me back into baking after losing Roo and gaining a Tommy!
As most of you already know we supply the birthday cakes, pupcakes and biscuits for their amazing doggo birthday parties held at their even more amazing paddock. I know if Roo Bear was here it would be his most favourite place, so if you haven't already checked them out, here's your prompt to do so 🥰🐾

I'll leave you with a photo of the best boys being the best taste testers 😄💛

FREE MUZZLE TRAINING FOR XL BULLIES

Next Saturday, November 11 at 11:30am, we will be hosting a workshop exclusively for XL Bully dogs or those that fit the “type”. We will cover muzzle types, selecting and fitting a muzzle for your dog, and introducing it in a low-stress, consent-based, conflict-free way.

Paddock in the Pines has graciously donated use of their beautiful woodland area to give us space to meet and learn. I will do my best to answer whatever other questions you have about how to prepare for the ban as well.

Drop us a message to register your interest, or let us know if you have any questions 💚

Please could I ask that anyone who takes toys to the paddock with them, please take them home again 🙏

Remember, balls that are suitable for your dog may not be suitable for the next dog.

This morning, I was in the paddock with 2 Labradors, and I caught one of them throwing the small tennis ball in the air and catching it again. My heart dropped when I realised how small the ball was.

Thankfully, he dropped it when I asked and let me have it. Otherwise, that could have been a very different situation and could have easily got lodged in his throat and choked.

I don't leave balls in the paddock for this reason, as the horror stories I've personally seen and heard over the years are terrifying.

If you find any, please feel free to pop them in the bin or take them with you!

I've thrown the tennis ball away as it was broken, but if anyone wants the glow in the dark one back, it's in my van and I can get it back to you 😊

Thank you ❤️

So why choose Paddock in the Pines? 🌻

Because it was created by a true dog lover who understood the assignment, set by dogs themselves!

Having worked with dogs for 7 years and understanding how their minds and bodies work, I wanted to create a safe space, completely different from any other.

Providing an enclosed area, full of carefully chosen activities, scents and smells, to specifically enrich dog's minds, bodies and souls, has brought so much joy to not only myself, but to other dog owners who are also passionate about their dogs being allowed to enjoy their natural urges and senses! All of which, whilst having the safety and security of being inside a paddock!

What's not to love?!

Paddock in the Pines was never intended to be a place for dogs to run riot and burn loads of physical energy - it was built for all dogs to just be dogs and burn mental energy! 🧠

Remember, experts say, 20 minutes of sniffing is equivalent to 1 hours walk! 🤯

So allow the sniffs, and if you haven't already, come check us out soon!

The storm last night has brought down lots of branches in the paddock, so please take extra care if you're in here today as some branches may be hanging on! 🌲

If you ever have a slot booked during a storm/ strong winds - please feel free to message me to rearrange your slot.

Remember, branches can fall at any time, and you are always using the paddock at your own risk! ⚠️

Polite reminder to please check your junk mail if you don't automatically receive a confirmation email. Your confirmation email will have the directions and gate codes in.

If it is not in your junk, it's likely that you've misspelt your email address so please let me know ASAP in order for me to get everything across to you prior to your booking.

Please do not attempt to contact me when you're stood at the paddock gates not able to get in, because you don't have the codes. It is very likely that I won't answer the phone first time around especially if I'm working, which will only result in you loosing your allocated slot.

I have added a check box to the website now as a reminder to everyone. If you click the check box without reading it and then get to the paddock and realise you can't get in - that's not my fault so please don't shout at me on a voicemail🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Thank you!
