We have some very sad news…
This morning was pretty normal. My husband ,Norman, let the yorkies out into their pen, like normal. We had breakfast and hung out with the kids a bit and then I checked on the yorkies. I topped off their waters and checked their food. Everything looked fine. I had some cleaning to do in the camper so I did that for about an hour and a half. After I finished I walked past their pen on my way back inside with the family. As I approached all of the yorkies awoke from their mid morning slumber to greet me as I passed them, all but Lacy. She remained passed out on the ground and didn’t responded to my calls. So I dropped what I was carrying and picked her up. She was very floppy and didn’t respond at all I was pretty sure she was gone at that point. I called my Norman and he brought the kids and the car over to me. I gave Lacy to him and he tried patting her back in an effort to restart a pulse. I drove us to the vet and they confirmed she was gone…
At this point we start thinking “what did we miss” “did we do something wrong”. The vet said just by looking at her that she may have had an aneurysm. We requested an X-ray and do further tests so we could rule out the possibility of her eating something she shouldn’t have while we weren’t looking. They said that the X-ray showed some kind of mass in her abdomen so we requested further examination. They said it was gas build up from her body starting to decompose. In other words it revealed nothing. They said there was nothing they could find that was wrong with her, she (the vet) said it could have been genetics or something along that line. We are still awaiting the official prognosis letter from the vet… regardless we are very saddened at this sudden loss. Like I said it was a normal morning. My husband let them all outside first thing this morning and I checked on them later on. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary to either of us. Which is part of why I’m still a bit in disbelief of her passing. 😭
On an owners view of Lacy: She was as sweet as they come. Always eager to please, high energy and, loved attention. ❤️She did amazing with other dogs and our 3 very young children. She was a star. ⭐️
On a breeders view of Lacy: I am super bummed! She had kept her color and marking very well. Her black spots were as bold at the time of her passing as when we first picked her up. She already out weighed our other yorkies which would have made her an ideal mommy. I am saddened at the loss of Lacy and the potential she had.
She was an amazing little puppy and will be missed…
