This litter is the cutest freakin’ thing I’ve ever seen 😭

They are also quite sweet so some of them MAY be available! Depending on what I hold back and temperament when I do my final evaluations 🄰

Another boy, another squiggle to show his temperament šŸ˜‚šŸ„°

I don't always do these sort of things to my rats but you can tell a lot about a rat's behavior by a quick 35 second video of them being pestered and annoyed by a human. I'm curious - would you guys be interested in seeing a video of what they should NOT act like? Just to show the difference. šŸ™‚

I always make sure to support them properly, so a quick scruff isn't harmful at all. If you watch closely, you'll see I either keep my hand under his back end or keep him resting on the arm of my chair so he's supported.
Just like puppies, rats are carried this way by their moms so it's a safe way to gently keep a young rat still for a moment! I promise he's not being harmed like some people seemed to think in my last post.

This little guy also passed the manhandling test with flying colors! 🄰

Ah, there it is… the classic feeder breeder condescension combo:
ā€œI’ve been doing this longerā€
ā€œI use Freedom Breeder tubs so it must be betterā€
ā€œYou’re just biasedā€

Meanwhile, he’s over here defending setups designed for maximum output, minimum welfare, while I’m clearly prioritizing health, behavior, and ethics.

There’s a massive difference between:
- Breeding rodents as living, intelligent pets with social, physical, and mental needs
vs.
- Cranking out feeders where survival to 3 weeks is the main benchmark.

And before anyone starts clutching their pearls… yes, I breed feeders, too.
But mine live comfortably, get leftover human food, sunflower seeds, enrichment, and regular handling right up until they serve their purpose. They are treated no different than any other rat I own.
Respect doesn’t stop at a label.

Quick reminder: I choose what flies on my page and what doesn’t.
This? Doesn’t. Enjoy your block, Jeremy 🄰

Had to take a quick video to show this little guy’s temperament for a potential adopter and I’d say he passed with flying colors! What do you all think? šŸ˜‚

The adopter said, ā€œI was unprepared for the manhandling.ā€
Well… how else am I supposed to show off what a sweet, tolerant little guy he is? šŸ˜‚šŸ„°

Also, kindly pretend my house isn’t a disaster in the background. I’ve spent all morning chasing down a loose rat, so we’re embracing the chaos for the moment 🤪

āļøINFORMATIVE POSTāļø

Glass enclosures like fish tanks and terrariums are not safe or appropriate housing for rats, not even temporarily. They lack proper ventilation, which traps ammonia and humidity, putting rats at serious risk for respiratory infections and even death. Tanks also severely limit enrichment opportunities like climbing, foraging, and burrowing, all of which are essential to a rat’s physical and mental health.

Because of the long term harm these enclosures cause, I do not adopt to homes that house rats in tanks or terrariums under any circumstances. Rats deserve safe, enriching environments and proper housing is non negotiable.

I get this question often and the answer will always be the same: rats do not belong in tanks. Period.

I’ve noticed a drop in engagement recently and a major slow down on adoptions. I want to take the opportunity to reassess and improve before making any major decisions about the future of my public breeding program.

I’d love your input on a few things:

• What would you like to see more of from my rattery or on this page in general?

• Are there specific varieties, colors, patterns, or coat types you’d be most excited to see in future litters?

• Would there be interest in mice if I began offering them alongside rats?

• Do you have any suggestions or feedback on how I could improve the rattery overall?

Your feedback is genuinely appreciated and helps shape the direction I take moving forward. Thank you for being here and for participating!

Still have 10 boys available. 🄰
