Happy 2022! We're grateful you're here (and let's be honest- your dog probably is too!). We wanted to start off the year with another introduction for those who are new to our account. We're Brandy and Scout- the human and dog behind Dog Friendly SLC. This started as a way to chronicle our own adventures of finding dog friendly things around Utah, but it's turned into so much more! We've been doing this for 3 years now. 🤯 Right now we invest 100% of money made from DFSLC back into creating more resources for our community. (Nope, this isn't my full time job.)

Yappy Hour is back tomorrow (Thurs, Aug 12) from 6 to 9pm! This month's event is at Pioneer Park and the best advice we have for you is park at The Gateway!!! Their spacious parking garage is free for the first hour and only one block away from the park. As an added bonus you could grab dinner there, enjoy the amazing outdoor seating, and take cute pictures with their summer umbrella art!

Happy New Year! For those who are new, I wanted to reintroduce myself! I am Brandy- the human behind Scout's camera- and I started DFSLC two years ago (🤯) when I was struggling to find dog friendly info around Salt Lake City. What initially started as a WHERE mission has now turned into a HOW. How can we make Salt Lake more dog friendly? For me that means encouraging responsible dog ownership, finding new businesses interested in being dog friendly, and hosting even more events.... I'd love to hear what it means to you.
We have many great things on the horizon for 2021! More events are coming your way and we're also relaunching our merchandise with new designs. You can find us nearly daily over on our Instagram page but we're going to try to be better about updating Facebook too!

Hey there! I’m Brandy and I run Dog Friendly SLC with my trusty golden retriever, Scout! You many know us from Instagram where we’re always posting our adventures around the Salt Lake City area.
I moved to Salt Lake City in the fall of 2017 and welcomed baby Scout into my home in January of 2018. As I’m originally from dog-friendly Boise, Idaho, I naturally wanted to take Scout with me wherever I could! Unfortunately I struggled to find accurate information on where I could take my dog in the Salt Lake area. Many frustrated attempts at post-hiking brunch later, I knew I had to take things into my own hands.
In October 2018 I launched @DogFriendlySLC on Instagram! I had no clue what I was doing except trying to help myself and other local pet parents have a reliable resource they could reference for dog friendly activities. Our Instagram adventure turned into DogFriendlySLC.com in June of 2019 so people could find our information via search, check a map of dog friendly places, and read resources focused on commonly asked questions.
While we’re still going on plenty of adventures, nowadays we are focused on making Salt Lake City even MORE dog friendly by advocating for dog friendly spaces, hosting more events, and connecting more within our community. We hope you’ll join us on the journey!
