Our Story
Hey there! I’m Brandy and I run Dog Friendly SLC with my trusty golden retriever, Scout! You many know us from Instagram where we’re always posting our adventures around the Salt Lake City area.
I moved to Salt Lake City in the fall of 2017 and welcomed baby Scout into my home in January of 2018. As I’m originally from dog-friendly Boise, Idaho, I naturally wanted to take Scout with me wherever I could! Unfortunately I struggled to find accurate information on where I could take my dog in the Salt Lake area. Many frustrated attempts at post-hiking brunch later, I knew I had to take things into my own hands.
In October 2018 I launched @DogFriendlySLC on Instagram! I had no clue what I was doing except trying to help myself and other local pet parents have a reliable resource they could reference for dog friendly activities. Our Instagram adventure turned into DogFriendlySLC.com in June of 2019 so people could find our information via search, check a map of dog friendly places, and read resources focused on commonly asked questions.
While we’re still going on plenty of adventures, nowadays we are focused on making Salt Lake City even MORE dog friendly by advocating for dog friendly spaces, hosting more events, and connecting more within our community. We hope you’ll join us on the journey!
