Me trying to learn/speak the most southern Spanish so I can talk to this dog! đ

Puppy Training
How đ¤ will you build confidence in your puppy this weekend?
Max is having his first front yard neighborhood walk and we had to get past the big, scary equipment.
Instead of pulling, dragging or forcing him, I move a few feet away, bend to the ground, and call him to come. That gives him an opportunity to learn TWO important things:
1ď¸âŁ The big sketchy thing isnât a big deal. He can do it!
2ď¸âŁ Coming when called in a distraction, and that humans are âbaseâ and trustworthy.
Prior to me being able to video, we all sat with Max and allowed him to just observe the activity. When he seemed able to ignore it, it was time to move and I hit record. At first he wanted to go back to the house, but with a little encouragement he decided heâd come with us.

This morning, we did a little confidence building at Mt. Hebron Park with Miss Maggie.
You can hear the woman in the background say, â(Name I didnât catch) tells me all the time we gotta take our dog to dog school.â
I said, âNot all dog schools are this fun!â

Dog Training: Fun With A Box
This young boy has lots of âĄď¸energy from about 7-10 p.m. every night!
We have introduced a working game of fetch as well as long-line sniffaris to his evening routine, but mom is having surgery this week. So today we introduced something that would be mentally stimulating for Doc, but easy for mom to do while sitting.
We started with a simple nose touch anywhere on the box. Now we are shaping for touching the blue stripe only.
If you have special needs, give me a call. I would â¤ď¸ to help you find something that works.

You donât need a fancy snuffle mat! This sheet worked perfectly for Franklinâs dinner.
This activity is a great way to slow down fast eaters, but itâs so much more! You can use this to entertain (and eventually calm) boisterous pups, as well as stimulate the senses and engage the brains of older dogs. Itâs also a great way to beat the heat if your pups are missing their walks.
Give this exercise a try this weekend by simply sprinkling some treats or your dogs kibble across a sheet and rolling, folding, or wadding it up. You can make it easy, or add folds and twists to make it more difficult.
Let me know if you give it a try!
Happy Friday!
