We wanted to take a moment to share some important news regarding our application & adoption fees at AFNM
The cost of veterinary care continues to rise across the United States. This rise in medical expenses has been affecting all aspects of animal care, and we are no exception. Our commitment to providing the best possible care for our rescue Frenchies means that we cannot compromise on their well-being, which includes ensuring they receive the necessary medical attention when required.
In addition to the general increase in veterinary costs, we have also been witnessing a growing number of foster dogs with major medical needs. French Bulldogs are among the most beloved breeds, but too many are suffering due to irresponsible breeding. They often face severe health challenges, and an overwhelming number are ending up in shelters or are being surrendered to rescue because owners are unprepared for the costs of their care. As a result, we have been shouldering extensive medical expenses to provide them with the specialized care they require.
In light of these challenges, we have made the difficult decision to increase our adoption fees and application fee. This decision was not taken lightly, as we always strive to be as accessible as possible to potential adopters. However, in order to continue our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming French Bulldogs in need, we must ensure that our organization remains sustainable and capable of providing the highest level of care.
As of February 1st, our Adoption Application Fee will be $20 and Adoption Fees for puppies (under 1 and healthy) will be $1500. Our other fees remain the same: $1200 for under 2 and healthy, $700 for 2-8 years and healthy, and $400 for special needs.
Please know that every penny from your adoption and application fee goes directly back into the rescue, enabling us to cover medical treatments, medications, vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and other essential services. Your support is crucial in helping us make a difference in the lives of these deserving pups and giving them a second chance at a forever home.
We understand that this news might be disheartening for some, but we sincerely hope that you can appreciate the reasons behind this decision. Together, we can continue making a positive impact on the lives of French Bulldogs in need. Thank you for being a part of our community.
