Oreo’s back from the vet! She now has a clean bill of health, and just needs time to recover. A little bit about what happened. She had been acting strange for the last couple of weeks. Pacing, crying, licking her belly obsessively, and just in general looking uncomfortable. (Along with a few other minor things) Most concerning was her lack of appetite. After several days of not eating, we started adding some beef broth, or some shredded chicken into her food. She would eat it, but less and less each day. When we brought her to the vet, he had a good idea what it was, but it’s super rare and he couldn’t be sure. He thought she had what’s called a pseudo-pregnancy. Meaning, she was going through all the symptoms of being pregnant, but not actually pregnant. So much so that she was actually lactating! A few other things he thought were possibly a small blockage in her intestine, or an infection in her uterus. We started antibiotics and an appetite stimulant. After 3 or 4 days of still not eating much food, we decided her needed to do exploratory surgery, to rule out blockage, and infections, and spay her at the same time. Thankfully there was nothing more serious and she’ll be back to normal in a week or two!

Well, I’ll ask you to pass on well wishes for Oreo. She hasn’t been getting better and is having exploratory surgery right now. They think she may have an infection in her uterus. She’ll get spayed at the same time. Hopefully all goes well and we’ll get our happy puppy back soon!! 🐶

Sorry I havents been on much lately. We’ve been sooo busy! But nows, we’re on VACATION!! Just made it up north to the cabin, and settling in. I found my spot!! Will show some fishs hopefully this week!! Yay!!
