This is Mr Mjau.
He was having some issues with peeing for a while.
He was on general therapy for bladder inflammation and it wasnt helping so today he was in vet station.
Diagnose... ultrasound showed one big bladder stone that is visible in picture and heavy bladder inflammation.
Also bacterial sampling was done and results will soon be known.
Because stone is too big, most likely solution is surgery.
Mr Mjau is amazing nice cuddly cat and needs help.

When you TNR every day....so the next round of TNR.... this is like from this week and from few days 2 weeks ago...
Previous week I was sick and couldnt leave the house.
There are brothers and sisters in pictures.... wild and nice...healthy and not healthy...

Few cats will be caught again like Mr Blindy who has something called entropion and requires not so routine eye surgery... Surgery wasnt performed immediately cause it is expensive. He is type of cat I will be able to catch him again for sure.

3 females were in early pregnancy stage so time is running... I dont like spaying females in late pregnancy stage. Vets neither.

This is bigger part of this last week's work.
With thousands and thousands of cats out there nothing is more important than TNR.
I wish there would be more people doing it so burden I feel wouldnt be so big.
There are so many locations, so many people calling...any given day I have to choose where to go from dozens of locations...

In ideal world this would be 365 days a year work payed by city...but in this country most cities dont give a fuc... about cats in particular (to be honest it is not like they give a lot of fuc... for people as well).
But reality is different, lot of sacrifice needed.
Who ever wants to join me on some days, you are welcome. Working with partner is much easier.

TNR is curing the most important part of the problem...number of street cats.
Everything else is dealing with consequences of that high number...also needed of course but reducing number should be the priority.

What happens with rescued kittens?
Here is one video about it.
Last summer I rescued them... they were dumped to die and actually very close dying...sick, skinny, in dangerous place....
And look at them now.

Nothing more important than castrations...
Unfortunately even the many "cat lovers" dont understand it... and some people are categorically against it.

We have thousands of street cats here...imagine how many kittens gets born every year and most of them die in pain and agony...
TNR is the only solution to stop suffering as well as to stop cat fiv felv spreading.

Also I have to add here even the "cat activists and volonters" while they are for TNR, they dont really want to spend their time catching cats in streets so burden falls on few people...whole city and surrounding area on few people...hmmm...

Late night rescue.... they were crying from within car engines... same location... most likely family ...
One was caught with net when running from car and another with trap when he exist car engine after hearing you tube sound mom calling kittens on my phone....
This past summer was record breaking in terms of cats mating so we have many kittens...it is very bad.

This time tip came from cat lover from Austria who noticed cat colony in Jezera. She was feeding them while staying there and fell in love.
She wanted someone to catch them and take for castrations and basic checks... So these two were the first ones.
You can see sister looks very skinny and I can tell you she eats like she havent eaten for long tome 😥.

Today they were returned back and I left lot of food.

In few days I ll try catching others too.

Castration campaign is just starting and there were already many many calls. Of course nothing is possible without your support.

Although sometimes it feels like it is all useless cause number of cats is just so high, what else to do....TNR is the only long term solution.

As a matter of fact I m planning to buy one medium van Dacia Logan with very known and reliable renault 1.5dci engine that my boss is selling so I could use it for castration....the castration van 😀. It would make things lot easier.

Unfortunately nobody here from us cat people has anything like that so it is definitely needed.
It would be in service for any cat (or dog, some friends help with dogs) related issue.
There are calls from more distant places like Rogoznica and with ordinary car just not possible...

-Kittens from last post are great!!! I ll put video in comment section.
-Long feed tonight from 1.30am till 5.00am....
31 locations.
Some of the interesting locations...in fifth picture Mr Roki watching me...he had tapeworm and lost lot of weight but getting better now...
in second picture Mrs Fat who is no longer that wet since tv station closed and tv people fed her so I had to start feeding her again...
in fourth picture Mr Tiger finally showed up...he was missing for a while...
in third picture tiger trio always suddenly appears from nowhere...
Amount of food spent? 8kg dry of food (in cold days much more goes, in summer they are much less hungry), 36 wet food cans and 8 little special bags for some picky...water who knows....

If anyone is interested to go with me to feeding tour, you are welcome 😀.

First, black white is somewhat better... on constant antibiotic injections. The most important she breaths better and eats well.

And now about kittens....5 kittens left to die at abandoned military installation. 2 kittens are in awful condition, 1 is so-so, 1 is more good than bad and last one is currently good. They require total therapy and full time care. They have about 5 weeks....can barely lick so I m feeding them via syringe. Hard to say how will the two worst one end but I think there is hope.

Panda is a cat that I know for almost 8 years now...from the time when she was just a few months old kitten.
She lived on street all this time on good and safe location. Now she needed help.
Her breathing became huge problem and even worse she stopped eating...losing weight fast.
I ve started visiting her every night and giving her antibiotic injection but it wasnt enough... she wasnt eating and needed more help than I was able to provide...so I took her to vet station.

X rays ruled out diaphragmatic hernia, blood tests showed mild anemia and mild urea elevation. Also her inside mouth not the greatest. One tooth had to go out immediately.

Right now she is with me on therapy for breathing and mouth. She started to eat. I put her tabs in pieces of meat.

What is next?
Mouth examination again to see what will therapy fix and is more teeth removal needed.

For breathing rhinoscopy needed to determine where exactly is stenosis and then most likely surgery attempt to try to solve it (although these type of procedures are neven guarranted). Both rhinoscopy and procedure are very expensive.

Anemia and urea issues... hopefully eating will fix it...both can be explained with lack of eating last before I took her.

They will be used to send cats to one great foreign country organization who will assist with finding homes there.
First group of cats should go in 3 weeks.

It goes on and on...
Almost 200 cats this year.
Where ever you go, you find many many cats....
In all honesty I cant continue at this rate, I have to work and take care for myself.
Castrations dont pay bills and thrust me my situation is very sensitive.

My colleague today said he is done, he quits with everything...I cant say I dont understand him cause I know his situation and how he sacrifies and destroys his life like I do... many in this thing eventually burn out and quit...

City regime is bunch of criminal and corrupt scum who only care for their own pockets so cant expect anything from them...

Tomorrow is Sunday...I will work tomorrow cause I couldnt during week due to catching cats for castrations... vet doesnt work on Sunday.

What can I do... only hope for better... hope dies last.

Today was TNR day.
I caught 16 cats in my 2 trips to this location.
These cats are not typical street cats....they live around house of one person who has serious health issue has very small income not enough even for himself. He tries to take care for them best as he can and cats really dont look that bad. Obviously he cant castrate them so he needed help with that.
I was glad I was able to help.

There is nothing more important than TNR... especially when dealing with so many cats like here.

Like previous cat wasnt enough... now this.
Certain neighbour found this cat hit by a car and dumped her next to my car. He wasnt worried about my existing struggles, he thought why not dumping me one more...
So I was going to catch cats for castrations this morning and before I entered car I noticed her...
She is now sleeping in one of my big boxes, we ll see what next if she survives the night... meaning if there is no bleeding inside head...and so far so good. If she "only" has concussion or some kind of swollen brain or hematoma inside head, she has a chance. My friend had similar case and cat recovered completely.
If you wonder why she isnt at station already, it is because I cant use their services "on debt" anymore until I solve existing debts. Just imagine how much would you pay in your own station for difficult case like this and I have stuff like this all the time.
By law care for this cats should be payed by city but they dont give a damn...

-First, cat who had ruptured eye is all great now. Everything fixed!
-Black cat in pictures was here several months on treatments to get her into condition where she would be able to go to Czech Republic...
On Saturday she finally traveled...her life will now continue there under amazing Jana S.

-Bad news... unfortunately usually some bad things happens given number of cats.
This poor cat in video used to live in city centre...of course we spayed her and fed on regular basis. Well, she hasnt been appearing for weeks and then when she did... we saw the nose.
She has intranasal carcinoma.
Her future is not good. We are trying to find out is anyone willing to operate...is it even possible to do it. My vets dont think it is possible, they think tumor too big. But we are asking around to hear other opinions.

Happy New Year to all cat lovers out there!

24/12/2023

So first picture her eye somehow ruptured. She was already blind on it and it was like a bubble which ruptured. 4 days she didnt eat at all but now she is eating 💪...I m guessing cause eye pain decreased.
She ll need eye removal to prevent her ever again feeling pain there.

Second picture legendary Tim (Brinjko), cat who has both FIV and FELV...still holding strong but again has FIV inflammatory masses in throat that require another burning/removal. We ll do that very soon. He is struggling eating. Other than that he is already defying odds.

Third (and last) picture of another FIV+ boy who used to be crazy agressive towards all cats and look at him now...

And few latest pictures of 2 colonies next to my city. Notice how well they look. That is when they are castrated, fed every day and cleaned from parazites.

Mating season is slowly starting... male cats are screaming and fighting...cant say I notice any female cat being in heat. Few more weeks I guess.

Castration program I hope to increase depending on financial status. I ve ordered 2 new traps which I will give each to two new TNR collegaues.

Next 7-8 days I will feed ferals better than usual...
I wish I could it always but not possible so at least for Christmas and New Year they will have better dry and wet food brands.
