Heartbroken. We loved him more than words. Our lives are forever changed and better because of Donner. I can’t stop crying, can’t believe he’s gone. We had him for 3 years, and every second was a blessing.

Our sweet Donner isn’t doing well. In his past 3 years, He has always been prone to gastrointestinal issues because of his megaesophagus. Unfortunately, this bout of gastro issues is the worst he’s ever had. Yesterday his wonderful vet, who has a great love for Donner, gave him IV fluids & meds to stop his nausea. Unfortunately, he is not improving. Pray for Donner, we love him so much & are so worried. He won’t touch food or water right now, which is not his norm - and he’s already pretty skinny because of his condition. He’ll be back with our vet early tomorrow for X-Rays. Feeling worried about our sweet boy.

Dinner time...we still have good & bad eating days...but our 2 year adoption anniversary is coming up soon. We'll be celebrating that special day with the Nevada Humane Society at their big fundraiser next weekend.

Thought you would all like a Donner Update!! He's doing great. Has good days & bad from an eating standpoint with regards to his mega esophagus . Some days he keeps all his food in, other days...he regurgitates everything. All in all, he's pretty thin, but very happy and energetic! We just spent the weekend at Frenchmans Lake...Happy dog frolicking through the bushes, lake and hills.

I'm finally feeling better. I ate almost nothing for 6 days, so I'm extra skinny today...but today...I'M FAMISHED! Big thanks to my friends at Scraps Dog Company for getting me some GI friendly food and a sweet new jacket... & my awesome vet Dr. Graham at Galena Veterinary Hospital who got me back on track!

YAHOO, I was finally able to eat an entire bowl of food and keep it all down!!WOOHOO HAPPY DOG. AND...my friends at the Nevada Humane Society hooked me up with a few gifts today! Feeling much better with some food in my belly

I'm having a rough week with my eating. I have weeks where I keep all my food down with no problem, and then for no reason, I have days where I regurgitate my food after every 4th or 5th bite. It can be really frustrating and makes my human parents nervous. Sometimes this megaesophagus really sucks!!!

So Here is a question I get asked often....Yes, I still get fed in a standing position. I've DEFINITELY our grown my chair, but my family finds that it's easiest to feed me in this position, because I can only eat about 2 tablespoons of wet food per bite.. If I eat more than that...I will regurgitate it. Luckily, my family is patient with my feedings. I eat 3 times a day, and aside from my birth defect, I'm a very normal dog. I play hard, chase my tail and on rare occasion...get busted for chewing on things that I shouldn't be chewing on!!!

I've been out-n-about working on my homework from Fur and Feather Works. Im filling out my doggy passport. I'm practicing my good manners by visiting businesses around town! I visited Heritage Bank of Nevada, weighed-in at Galena Veterinary Hospital (I gained 6 more lbs WOOHOO), grabbed some treats from Scraps Dog Company, then took a much needed break at Starbucks! Anyone want me to come visit them???

I ROCKED PUPPY SCHOOL THIS WEEK at Fur and Feather Works! Check me & my new tricks out! My parents are always working with me. Tonight we had a surprise lesson of sit & stay in the closet, instead of putting laundry away!!! AND GUESS WHAT...I've gained 5.5lbs in the last 3 weeks!

FINALLY....Baxter (my furry brother) is starting to hangout with me. He's been a little bit grouchy since I joined my new family, but mom gives him extra treats when I'm nearby. Who doesn't appreciate a good liver treat!! Pretty awesome to share moms lap!
