Here's a quick little update regarding the Giant African Train Millipedes in their naturalistic enclosure!
Includes a nice little voice over explaining the behaviour! I hope you all enjoy!
After a few months of owning and moving to a massive enclosure, we saw what could possibly be the first signs of potential breeding between our Giant African Train Millipedes!
Looks like the male is signalling the female that he wants to breed and the female is being somewhat receptive with some curling around the female going on!

🐍Here in the UK the weather has suddenly turned and is extremely warm, so what a better time to get our large Adult Albino Burmese Python outside for some natural sun and a measure.
To our surprise he is only 10 foot long! But still a heavy boy! 🐍
Jonseys first time having raw egg didn't go as well as we had planned. He wasn't sure what to do 🤣.
The Millipedes have friends! Let's set up the Isopod breeding enclosure and clean out our rather messy monitor lizard!

'Jonsey' loves to chase and hunt crickets, which happen to be his favourite insect to devour. Whenever he spots them he is up the glass and waiting eagerly to be fed. 🦎
Boscs can get huge, up to 4 feet in length and require a massive cage already 8 foot by 4 foot, please carefully research them and get hands on experience where possible before taking the leap and getting one of these beautiful monitor lizards. 🦎

If anyone knows anything about 'Bosc Monitors' then you will know what a ferocious appetite they have when it comes to food. 'Jonsey' is no exception and let me tell you this picture was not easy to get, as soon as he sees food he is on it without a thought.
Bosc monitors, as young, feed primarily on insects, these include, but not limited to; mealworms, crickets, locusts, roaches and such insects. Alongside this the diet will consist of the occasional egg and rodents. Although as the Bosc gets to adulthood their diet will change to primarily rodents and eggs, with few insects preyed upon.

‘Jonsey’ sure does love his Egg.
Alongside his egg he has a sprinkling of ‘Calci-powder’ which helps him develope strong bones and lessen the chance of ‘MBD’, otherwise known as ‘Metabolic Bone Disease’.
He is also fed on crickets, locusts, mealworms and roaches with a once weekly small mouse. This is keeping within natural behaviour and feeding requirements.
(Please note: i am aware of the poo in the background and as soon as he had finished eating it was removed, i prefer to feed him first so he is full and doesn’t instinctively think my hand is food and bite me.)
It’s time to meet our animals! So let’s introduce:
‘Jonsey’ our juvenile bosc monitor 🦎
While being a cheeky chap who likes to break the sound barrier he sure is one to keep your eyes on when out of his vivarium. Loves his crickets and locusts, not too keen on worms but willing to accept them when offered. His favourite food is eggs and a small mouse. Loves to death roll too! Miniature alligator or what!! 🐊
Bosc monitors can get to a total of 4 feet in length, require a high temperature then most Reptiles and a varied diet, while they are prone to obesity, a strict diet can help maintain a healthy and lively Bosc! .
Don’t be frightened if they dig, they love to build nests in the ground and bury themselves during the cold months!
It’s time to meet our animals! So let’s introduce:
‘Snow’ Our Black Eyed Leucistic (BEL) Royal Python! 🐍
Snow is your typical shy Ball Python that loves to hide from anything that moves, except where food is concerned. Once out of the cage she loves to cuddle and watch films, her favourite being ‘Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales’.
Royal Pythons can grow to a maximum of 5 feet for Female, 3 feet for males, they prey on rodents and sometimes birds, however this is not common. They shed their skin just like any other snake.
Don’t be frightened if they refuse to eat as royal pythons tend to be fussy eaters and can go months without eating!
