The pool season is quickly winding down BUT weather is looking decent for both THIS Saturday & Sunday!
If anybody would like to book a final Pupz Pool YEG session of the 2021 season, PM as after this weekend, the pool is coming down until next spring/summer! 😢

BUSY day at the Pupz Pool YEG!
First session was with the Poodle Duo - as usual, Star swam her laps like a champ (short sessions for the wee old girlie) & Jack is progressing nicely & actually paddling better (not flailing/panicking) - he is doing great with the float-basket!
Second session was with the Papillon Boyz!
Martin was enthusiastic as usual & working on getting a little “pop” of the ramp!
Franky was entertaining - was not ready to get “into” the float-basket, so we tried on top (so cute) BUT, by the end, he walk across both underwater benches, across the pool & popped back to the ramp! ~good boy~!

The Poodle Duo, Star & Jack had another fun/great session at !
They were the first ones to get to work on the new & improved deck & ramp!
Added slats for better grip/traction getting into & out of the pool & added lattice to the top deck, increase safety for the pupz coming up & turning around/tugging their toys on the deck! (Safety first!)
Star was once again a little swimming superstar …. leapt out of the float basket, then swam back & forth off ramp to mom & back!
I’m very pleased & proud of Jack & his progress through Friday’s session …. by the end he was confidently getting into the float basket & actually swimming back to the ramp to his mom!
Can’t wait to see how his next session goes!

Had a fun little session with using our floating basket to help build confidence in swimming!
He did great!
We worked on “shaping” him to get into the basket on land & graduated /transitioned to water today & he didn’t hesitate & calmly swam back to the exit ramp!
Have a couple other dogs I’ve been working on this with, so can’t wait to watch their progression as well!

Today Star (wee 14 year old little toy poodle) & her younger house-mate Jack came for their first session.
Star has been doing mini swimming sessions at home in the bathtub, but Jack is working on water/swimming familiarization & confidence!
Star did great using a little floating basket creation & eagerly swam for her mom!
Jack progressed well too & actually did get some actual swimming in (sadly no video) using the same floating basket!
Can’t wait to see how they both do at their next session on Friday!

Had another positive-fun with Millie the Cocker!
She did quite well seeing as she just went to a new fur-ever home only 10 days ago!
Her new owner is doing a great job working on building up her confidence!
She tail was always wagging & she tried very hard & overcame some of her nervousness!
Can’t wait to see her next week for another session!
The weather is looking great for Friday & I still have some later afternoon sessions available!
PM me if you’d like to book you small dog in for a session!
The sessions are always fun & force-free! 🐾

Had a fun session with Martin & Frankie the Papillons.
Can’t wait for next week’s session!
Martin was overly exuberant … his brother Frankie is still working on confidently getting in!

For canine athletes & any other highly active pupz, recreational aqua-fit conditioning is a great way to add physical conditioning exercises that help increase endurance as well as strengthen muscles, all of which can not only improve athletic performance but also help guard against muscle strain & injuries.
Positive results can often be seen quickly when incorporating aqua-fit into athletic conditioning programs because exercise in water can accelerate results when compared to similar land-based exercises.

For those that visited Performance Pupz Massage+ Pupz Pool - a smaller version is going to be offering "learn to" & "Aqua Fit" for Small Dogs Only starting mid-July!!

All sessions will be with an experienced, force-free “swim instructor/life guard" & a properly fitting swim vest will be supplied, which helps build confidence & keep your pup safe during their aqua-fit session! 🐾💦!
