Bye sweet Honey, closing an era in our household. With Honey's passing our first generation guinea pigs officially ended today. She was the most humble, relaxed guinea pig of all. Honey had 3 husbands in her lifetime, so we are pretty sure she was not bored 🙃
She was our first foster fail. We adopted her as she fell in love with our first dear late Oreo boar. Marmalade (Oreo's first wife) was not a fan of Honey what is pretty understandable (and also, Marmalade was a grumpy lady lol) but Honey didnt actually care much so we thought the harem would actually work - and it really did!
The children often asked me to take Honey out, everybody loved her calm personality 💗
She was the healthiest in our herd, no vet trip needed in her lifetime!
She lived around 6 years (or more).

Bye Our Beautiful Sweet Lennon, gone too soon 💔

We will never forget our most beautiful guinea pig. You just started to come out of your shell our darling... Last night after noticing your huge weightloss we have rushed to the guinea pig rescue, thinking you will get better there, but it was just too late 😭
The dreading teeth issue for a rodent, really not good🦷

Our Beautiful Marmalade you were the cheekiest, most stubborn little darling. Exactly 6 years ago daddy fell in love with your tiny gumtree picture so mommy had to travel quite a bit to get you and bring you home for our sweet Oreo. You were the first wife of our Oreo. You greeted us first thing in the morning or when we got home.. You always woke us up in the early morning when you felt like chewing on the cage bars. You always made sure to bite vets, friends and family but we never got angry with you. You were not an ordinary guinea pig, a one of a kind character in an overly active little body. You never lost your will to live until this time... You survived two big surgeries, a bad ear infection, a leg paralysis and your first husband, our sweet Oreo. Your tiny body needed to take so much: all the injections when we treated your permanent hormonal issue (Cushing syndrome), all the hair and nail trims which you dearly hated as well.
Thank you for giving us so much love and cavy value in your guinea-long life. We really miss your cheeky face 🐹
Marmalade fell asleep peacefully with a company of her second husband Lennon and girlfriend Honey under her favourite igloo this week.. Mommy and daddy are extremely grateful for you waiting for all of us to get home so we could all say goodbye to you with your favourite treats 🥬 and some gentle pets.
