WE DESPERATELY NEED VOLUNTEERS IN MANGAWHAI

Helping Paws urgently needs volunteers to help out at our Rescue Centre in Mangawhai. We are looking for people who have time to help out either in the morning, or in the afternoon.

The Morning Shift

The morning shift requires you to be available for several hours, either weekly, fortnightly, monthly or on an ad-hoc basis. You will be changing litter trays, food and water bowls and undertaking light cleaning of our cages and our open catio area.

The Afternoon Shift

The afternoon shift requires you to be available for at least one hour, also on a weekly, fortnightly, monthly or an ad-hoc basis. You will be scooping litter trays, topping up food and water bowls, and giving our non-cat areas a bit of a spruce up. This will include tidying away things that are somewhere they shouldn't be, wiping down cabinet fronts and benchtops, and sweeping and mopping floors.

This is a lovely way to give back to your community, to boost your community service hours for awards you may be working towards, and to spend time with our rescued cats and kittens who may otherwise have been put to sleep.

Sound like you? Please message our Volunteer Co-Ordinators and let us know.

EXTREMELY URGENT: WE NEED A MEDIUM-TERM FOSTER FOR THIS WEE GIRL

We have until the end of this weekend to place this girl.

PLEASE: IF YOU CAN HELP LET US KNOW

Kuia is a beautiful, but timid wee girl who has sadly tested positive for Feline Leukaemia Virus. This virus means she has a weakened immune system, and could possibly pass the virus onto other cats.

We are therefore unable to bring her into our rescue centre, and need a foster home for her that has no other cats.

Our foster family will need to be patient with her, and work with her to gain her trust and bring her out of her shell.

All food, pharmaceutical supplies and medical care will be covered by our team. We simply need a family who will love and care for Kuia, and take her to the vet from time to time.

Can you help? Please message Helping Paws Foster Families and let us know.
