Louise took this little package for Julia to the barn last night. She left it in my care for only like 30 seconds and I kinda took a bite out of it. Oops! My bad!

I mentioned the other day about how great I look and feel, thanks to PEMF treatments from Greg Porter. Well, he was back to see me today and I feel better than ever.
I asked Greg to explain to me what PEMF is and how it works - but I was so relaxed that I drifted off into LaLaLand and missed most of the explanation. Oops!
What I can tell you is this: PEMF stands for pulsed electromagnetic fields and it is very effective in healing stressed or injured muscles and joints. When Greg puts the device on my body, it pulses in direct proportion to the amount of tightness in the body part being treated. For example, when he puts it on my left shoulder it pulses like a Mexican jumping bean. On my right shoulder, though, it lies pretty still. Each time he treats me, the healthier I am and the less pulsing.
You can see in the last photo how relaxed I was afterwards.
Greg had the cutest little assistant today - my sweet puppy Gracie. I think she may take over when he can’t make it to the barn. LOL

I’ve got mail! I’ve got mail! Well, actually this thank you card was addressed to Louise since I don’t have my own mailbox (yet!). Hayden and Amrie and Liam were so sweet and did such a great job of grooming me and giving me treats that I feel I should be writing them a thank you card. I’m not sure how good my penmanship would be, though; typing is one thing but handwriting quite another! Thanks again gang for coming to visit - I’m already looking forward to next year!

Last year at Old Home Week, I had a great time and won a bunch of bright red ribbons. So when Lily told me this evening that she was OHW, I was eager to hop right on the trailer and head out. Then she told me I’d have to chase 🐄 🐄 🐄! Like, what? Really? What would I do if I caught them? I decided to stay at home in my nice clean stall and munch on fresh hay.

So, here’s something new and exciting! You know how experiential tourism is having a moment?!? Well, my little puppy Gracie and I decided to give it a try. But before we could even get our marketing campaign together, we had our first customers. Three generations of the same family: Sheila, her daughter Megan and her grandchildren Hayden, Amrie and Liam.
Gracie did her tail wagging best to welcome them to the farm and show them around. Then they started pampering me! It’s obvious that Hayden has some experience with horses so she just got started currying my cost and picking out my feet. Meanwhile, Amrie caught on quickly to the brushing routine and conditioned and brushed my mane and tail until they were silky and shiny. And Liam, well he is just the cutest little bug. His little fingers on my nose were ticklish.
Hayden led me up to my field and they all spoiled me with apple pieces. Gracie did her cute “nice to meet you” routine in exchange for apple pieces as well.
They were all smiling when they left! You know, I think the pupster and I are onto something!

Earlier this week, I made two new friends-Shelly and Clarence Ellis. I’m so happy I met them because Shelly gave me lots of treats and Clarence knew just where I like to be scratched. I was excited to hear they live in the ‘hood! I hope they come back to visit often!

Louise sped onto the farm property last evening. Screeched to a halt outside my field. Bolted from the car toward me. I feared the sky was falling! It wasn’t, but the sun was falling below the horizon. And she wanted to make sure she caught this handsome dude (AKA me!) in front of the beautiful sky! I think she did pretty good! Don’t you?

Hay! Do you see what’s happening down there at the barn? There is an all-you-can-eat salad bar going up that conveyor belt into the loft. Thanks to the extended MRE community for making sure my friends and I won’t go hungry!

I had a great afternoon. Lying about as if I don’t have a care in the world. And you know what, I don’t! I had no idea when I left my birthplace in Ontario the kind of life I would have here in Prince Edward Island. Sheesh, I’d never even “herd” of PEI. But I instantly fell in love with Maple Ride Equestrian, my new home!
It’s here that I found Lily Margaret Campbell, my ❤️ girl! It’s here that I’ve stretched my mind and developed my fine physique!
Lori Kirkpatrick, Gordie and Ellie Kirkpatrick look after me as if I was their own. I have a nice stall, a great paddock, tasty grain, fresh water and an all-I-can-eat buffet of the best hay. I am inside when it’s nasty but otherwise I’m in the great outdoors, my happy place. The spectacular view stretches far into the distance.
I’m not only happy at MRE - but I’m proud to live here. Everything around the farm is ship-shape. If something needs to be repaired, it is, pronto (no baler twine holding together fences here)! If something needs to be replaced, it is quickly. The barn is magnificent with big comfy stalls and wide hallways. The indoor arena is awesome and the outdoor ring is even more so. And the riding trails go on forever and ever.
I really don’t have a care in the world - and that’s just how I like it!

Hay there! So this happened on Saturday morning! My friend Nora, from Halifax, was on the Island and came to see me! I was very excited!! You see, the last time Nora came to see me, she groomed me for more than an hour. It was heavenly! This time was no different. She used every brush and grooming tool available to make sure I was clean and shiny. I love being pampered! I’m a bit of a diva that way! LOL. I hope she comes back soon! ❤️
Now if only she did laundry. I’ve made quite a mess of my snazzy rainsheet!

What a beautiful morning. There I was, just relaxing in my paddock enjoying the tranquility and sunshine. Then Louise came to get me and before I knew what was happening, I was feeling very sleepy and my doctor had me rigged up in this contraption so she could use this massive, motorized tool to file my teeth. To add insult to injury, she gave me a needle. On the positive side, Louise didn’t put any blankets on me when she put me back outside! Now that felt nice!

I’m really missing my ❤️ girl Lily Margaret Campbell! So I was super excited when the rest of my family came to visit! Tom and I have an arm’s length relationship - if you know what I mean! LOL I still can’t believe they got me a puppy - isn’t she so cute?

Seeing Lily Margaret Campbell come in with a Greenhawk (horse supply store for those who don’t know) bag is as exciting as seeing what Santa brings me at Christmas! It’s not always something fun. Sometimes it’s something blucky like dewormer or something ho-hum like shampoo! Today, though, the bag contains a swanky new pair of jumping boots!

I haven’t been playing well with others so I’ve been put in solitary confinement - if I can call a big field in the fresh air confinement! I was so happy to see Lily Margaret Campbell and her friend Maeve on Easter Sunday. I hope yours was hoppy!

So I was out with a couple of friends the other day, having a beer and shooting the 💩. Lily Margaret Campbell and Julia Petrie know how much I complain about doing 20-metre circles: walk, trot or canter, off the left rein or off the right. Well now I know I have it pretty good! Poor Chuck is only allowed to run to the left. And Star goes all over the fricking arena but has to dance and cross her feet over each other and go back and forth over an invisible X in the middle of the arena! Yes, I’ll stick with my 20-metre circles!

Did you know that back in the day, horses were imported to Ireland from Wales and France for Dukes and Earls and the upper classes. They were highly coveted and considered prize possessions! You know what, these days my friends and I are also highly coveted and considered prize possessions! All that’s missing is the upper class bit, right Lily Margaret Campbell?
