On Saturday July 23 VSES Employees for Change was notified by IAM legal counsel that the Machinists Union and Thrive Pet Healthcare have come to an agreement to cease litigation and begin negotiations for our first contract! This is the next step in creating a better work environment that will ultimately benefit our patients and their humans.

While our fight isn’t over yet, we want to thank the community for your continued support. We hope to have a contract soon that will bring VSES back to the wonderful emergency and specialty hospital we know it can be! Stay tuned to this space for updates!

Hi everyone 👋🏼 I haven’t introduced myself on here in awhile, but here I am!

My name is Maria and I started happi healthi doggi in my home kitchen in September of 2021 👩🏻‍🍳

After making the decision to switch both of my dogs (Leila & Giuseppe) to homemade food, I wanted to bring my recipes to the rest of the Rochester dog community at an affordable price 🐶

As a female-founded small business located right here in the 585, we are committed to ensuring your pup is getting the best ingredients in their food so they can live their very best happi healthi doggi lives 🐾

I believe transparency is everything, that’s why all of the ingredients I use are listed right on our website. Our meals don’t include any preservatives, fillers, chemicals, or nasty additives that you might find in store brand dog food ❌

UPDATE: We reached out to GRASP & Lollypop Spotters who recommended we call Greece Animal Control. They just picked her up and informed us they are going to scan her for a microchip. If she does not have one, they will work with GRASP to get her in better care! Thank you everyone who shared this and helped to bring attention to it 💖

FOUND DOG: We found this female bulldog on the corner of Fetzner and Chesterton in Greece around 10:45am on Saturday 4/30. She looks like she recently gave birth. She has patchy fur on one side and looks like she has a tumor of some sort on her back right leg. No collar or tag. Was VERY friendly and sweet. I didn’t want her to get into the road so she is now with me. If you have any information please message us or comment below. We can’t keep her and will have to take her to a shelter/animal hospital or some sort if no one is able to claim her!

Ever wondered how to store happi healthi doggi treats and kibble? Keep them in an open-air, dry, room temp location. Remember, our treats are made fresh with no preservatives, so they won’t last as long as traditional dogs treats. 🦴

Avoid placing them in closed or vacuum-sealed containers where moisture can be trapped ❌

These are best enjoyed 7-10 days after they have been baked! Don’t worry, we put a “best by” date on each order. If enjoyed beyond then, be sure to double-check each treat to make sure they are not spoiled or stale. ✅

A chemical used in Milk-Bones, Ol’Roy, Kibbles’n Bits, Hill’s Pet Food and other pet foods should no longer be considered safe for consumption due to concerns about its ability to damage DNA according to a new animal-model study.

According to the Environmental Working Group: “A scientific panel created by the European Food Safety Authority found that titanium dioxide “can no longer be considered as safe when used as a food additive.” The panel, citing concerns about titanium dioxide’s genotoxicity, or its ability to damage DNA, based its conclusion on a review of hundreds of scientific studies. EWG called on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to quickly consider whether to ban titanium dioxide from use in food."

A chemical that may damage our pet's DNA should not be fed to pets.
